This place is a tiny costume shop right in Kensington. I stopped by here right before Halloween and, to say the least, it was packed! I had to drive around for a while even to get parking. But once inside I found out why a lot of people were stopping by here for their last minutes costume needs. It was filled to the brim with disguises, accessories and more. For Halloween (I'm not sure about their policy during the rest of the year) they were selling a lot of costumes but you could also rent from them. Renting from them gets you those kinds of costumes that everyone will ooh and ahh about if you show up to a party. But renting can also be pricey, much more expensive than buying those throw-away costumes that you can find at just about any store. Gene's costumes is open year-round though, so this is a good place to go if you are looking for a costume for a different sort of occassion, like for entertaining at a party or for dressing the stars of a local production. If anything, this place has a really funky atmosphere and is fun to just step inside. more
