Nice little airport. 3/31/2006

When the prices are better we opt to fly into Milwaukee instead of Chicago. The airport is much smaller and thus much less chaotic. It has everything you'd need in an airport (although a pretty small food court), and even has a nice used bookstore which I think is a really good idea. The fares can be more expensive to fly into Milwaukee because it's smaller, but there are times when I've found much cheaper flights because I think the businessmen who have more money to spend would rather fly into O'Hare so they're trying to get people to fly into Milwaukee by lowering fares. So keep your eye out for that. more

Goodairport but generally more costly 10/26/2005

Mitchell airport is a small, yet comfortable airport, located past downtown Milwaukee. As far as airports are concerned it is nice and relatively well maintained. Because it is not a major airline hub it is generally a bit more expensive than some other major cities (i.e. St.Louis or Chicago) which is why some people choose to drive down to O'hare or Midway insteadof taking the extra hit. It is a pretty friendly airport though and they do offer alot of services. more

A very good airport to fly out of 9/25/2005

Mitchell is certainly not an O'Hare or Midway airport, in fact it can be a lot better. They have a lot of flights leaving from the airport, all the major airlines have stations there, and it is never as busy and crazy as those bigger Chicago airports. They offer lots of services, shops, and restaurants and even banks and a post office. Other than Christmas the pace is a little more relaxed than other major airports and it is always clean and always looks good. more

Great airport. 7/25/2005

General Mitchell has really cracked down on the security since Sept. 11th, and I think that is great. You feel safe going in, and although a lot of our privilages like watching airplanes take off from inside are gone, there are other things you can do while waiting. You can visit a shop, or go eat. There are also sights to see. The airport can tend to be crowded at times, just like anyother. Parking is cheap if you are flying out, and I don't ever have a problem with theft or damage. They also have an outside observation area just off of Layton Ave. which is a good place to grab an ice cream and take the kids! more

General Mitchell International Airport 7/25/2005

General Mitchell International Airport is an excellent airport that my family and I have had the privvy of using a few times. It's a generously spaced airport with excellent parking. Small food court area. There are free shuttles to all the different parking lots, and free shuttle service to the rental car services available. There is a smoking area inside the facility. There is only one elevator that I have found, that is located in the center of the plaza...you can also find it at the top and across from the escalators. Friendly associates also. Curb parking is only if someone remains in the vehicle, and there are service porters at the curb that will load and transport your items for a fee (tip). more
