Good park 11/19/2006

Coulon is a good park to walk or run by the waterfront. It's also a good place to sit on one of the benches to reflect. For the most part, it is quiet (other than summer). You can watch the boats go by or watch the birds and other animals. The food there is ok. During the summer, there's good places to sunbathe and swim. Also, it is a good place to watch fireworks. The fireworks display might be smaller at this location, but it is still good...and not as crowded as the Seattle one. However, it is still hard to find parking during the fireworks show. Pros: Good park, good place to watch fireworks more

Gene Coulon Not Dog Friendly 5/31/2006

I'm rather upset that the Gene Coulon Park entry hasn't been updated by Seattle City Search staff. Based on the ""dog friendly"" rating I took my yorkies there (05.29.06) and found no pet signs all the way through the park's northern end. I think this could be a wonderful coexisting space for people & dogs (a la seward park) if no-scooping fines are posted. For now, me & my pups will drive from our home in Renton to the Seattle Parks like Seward, Volunteer and Magnuson. Pros: water-walks, nice views, fishing Cons: crowded in the summer, not dog-friendly more
