Genco Quality Meats and Imports

The absolute best beef around (Al's isn't near here and it's a tie between those 2) and the best meats and sandwiches anywhere! Too die for! Even if I didn't grow up here and have family here, I'd come all the way down just for Genco's! more

Food is good but is it worth being treated like a jerk? As soon as you walk in you get glared at, never a smile or "How can I help you" or a "Thanks for coming." I got better treatment in Iraq! OK, I get it, the wannabe Italian Gangster theme, but after more than enough visits, I rather go to Subway! more

I had a huge party for my daughters first communion, we had approx 350 people. The owner Lou was so very helpful in helping me choose a menu suitable for the occasion. Not only did they make a fabulous menu which consisted of Chicken Vesuvio, Roasted Vesuvio Potatoes, Talapia Fish in a wonderful white wine sauce with asparagus that was simply to die for. He also made some traditional Italian items such as sausage and peppers, meatballs (which by the way are better than my own) his famous Homemade Lasagna and Baked Mostaccolli, with so many sides of tossed salads and pasta salads that everyone was so pleased and curious as to who did the catering for our party. They set up everything and was very attentive to our needs. i would most definitely cater with them again, but since the occasion my husband and i go into Genco's weekly for their awesome subs and Sundays have pizza delivered. Thanks again Genco, you are truly the best, way better than anything downtown Chicago has to offer. more

I ordered the Pizza Cicci today. The menu didn't say it was a WHITE sauce pizza (it did indicate olive oil) . The only pizza that indicates its a "white pizza" on my menu is the Frank Pentageli. When I called to let him know that I was a little disappointed, he became extremely defensive "so, what do you want me to do?!" I assured him that I was not trying to get anything free, but was just disappointed. Then he wanted to insult me by telling me that any pizza made in Chicago in the Marguerite way has no sauce. Okay, but you are in Lockport! Then he tells me that he is Sicilian and he should know. Perhaps what people want when they call is for you to listen and show concern. The pizza was okay, but really missed the bus without the sauce and after speaking to the owner and hearing his lack of customer concern, I threw the menu in the trash. I have ordered about $30 weekly from there in the last two months because I work nearby. I did not appreciate his lack of manners and will never go there again. I will order from Rosattis on Weber going forward. more

Just opened approx 6-8months ago, but the best subs around!! Great food and great service. I heard that they are going to start serving pizza. They also deliver with is wonderful!! Keep up the great food! more

The motto is "The Best Subs Around" and I must agree with it. However, the curb appeal is pretty low as they are located at a converted gas station. There is outdoor picnic table seating. The quality of meats that are offered are excellent. The sandwiches are so good, that you will be sure to go back again. Very pleased. more
