This is a guys point of view. I realize these types of Salons cater mostly to female clientele and that's fine. I was referred by an old friend who works there so it pains me that I'm not giving the review I had hoped to give. My first experience there was actually quite nice. I had made an appointment beforehand and was helped almost as soon as I walked in. The stylist was very friendly and patient with my indecisiveness on how I wanted my hair done. I was quite pleased with the end result and looked forward to another visit there.
The next visit about 3 months later was different. I made an appointment and arrived on the scene and was told my stylist had not yet arrived so I had to wait which was perfectly fine. About half an hour later, I learned that she was not coming in at all because she was sick. Now I don't mean to be critical of their policies with their employees but in my job, if I failed to show up without calling before my shift and my employer had to call me several times to find out what's going on, I'd either be terminated or be one write-up away from being fired. As a result I had to wait a little over an hour to have someone else cut my hair. The lady I got was nice and did a good job on my hair though I felt like to her I was just someone that was dumped on her lap that she needed to get out of the way so she could get to her other appointments. Once I pad with tip, I was promptly ignored as I was no longer their concern. I don't expect any special treatment or anything and I understand that appointments don't always work out the way you plan them but when a customer gets inconvenienced, there should be some kind of effort to reassure that person and make them feel glad that they stayed. Gemini Salon is a nice place to your hair done, but I'm not sure if I'll back there anytime soon.
