great gelato!! 4/9/2006

This place is great. I've never had gelato before, but after trying it at this place I'm starting to go more often. Their ice cream is really creamy and delicious, and they have lots of great flavors. They also let you sample all the flavors that you want, so that you can be sure to get the flavor that you will enjoy. Anyway, don't just take my word for it, go there and try it yourself and you will see why it's so great! more

naia gelateria is the new name for the gelato place on shattuck. to me, it looks like the same place it was when it was called mundo gelato. naia gelateria has a huge selection of all kinds of gelato, including non milk based, soy based, etc. it's really yummy, and they let you try flavors before you order so you know you'll like what you get. and the fruit flavors are very true to their name--orange gelato will taste like oranges! the price is good too! more

You HAVE to RUN, don't walk, to Naia Gelateria!!! 8/16/2005

If you haven't had the pleasure of knowing gelato, have I got a store for you! Naia Gelateria in downtown Berkeley has the best gelato ever! They even have soy flavors for lactose intolerant people like me! They have all kinds of flavors, from Berkeley's own Scharffen Berger dark chocolate, to wacky flavors like froot loops. They even have gelato made with real Jamaican rums. Not only is the gelato delicious, but it comes in these super cute recyclable containers that come in pastel colors. I like to save them and use them to mix paint in my art class. So the next time you're strolling along in downtown Berkeley, check them out! You won't regret it. more
