While looking up the hours for this store I came across these reviews and just had to comment.
I live in Casselberry, near several card shops and game stores- The Gathering Place is hands down one of the best.
Yes, it is in fact, a tiny store. The crappy Chinese place down the road is cheap and easy and great for long tourneys.
This store is in no way overpriced. I have been trading MTG Cards for a little over five years now and know the value of most by heart... unless it is a rare or hard to find card expect to pay a fair price for it, and don't expect to get a ton of cash for your old crappy cards- that is not how trading works.
I noticed a user down there complaining about the Owner, Jose. The guy is great- he has an office, in the back of the store so he can keep an eye on things- and yes, he does spend a lot of time in it. When you consider the guy does international wholesale across the world, has other stores including this one you come to realize he is understandable busy.
Yes, the store is Tiny, but a lot of people are unaware there are tables in back for the older crowd- he keeps the kids up front to minimize theft and roughhousing- pretty good reason IMO.
All in all it's a great store, with fair prices- just don't expect to walk in with a stack of crappy cards and get a ton of money, they aren't looking for ""100% profit"" they are looking to not loose money while still providing a safe area for kids to meet and play.
Pros: HUGE selection, good people
Cons: Tiny store, too many good people
