In June 2014 I brought my cat here to be treated for a Urinary Block. The vet prescribed Royal Canin Urinary SO cat food to prevent another incident in the future.\r

I have since moved away from the Saint Charles area and more than an hour away from Gateway clinic, but I have continued to purchase the Urinary SO food from them when I was in the area.\r

This weekend I ran out and went to Petsmart to buy a bag and was told that I could not purchase it without approval from the vet. So we called Gateway from Petsmart and asked for approval. I was told that because my cat hasn't been seen by a gateway vet in more than a year they would not approve the purchase.\r

Fact is, my cat has not been seen by gateway veterinary clinic in more than 3 years (since the incident happened)... They have had absolutely no problem selling me the food directly for the last 3 years even though it was passed their "one year" rule.
