Gateway Tire & Service Center

Ihave just moved to Tyler from Austin - in the last 8 months, I had taken my Xterra to 3 different auto shops (Firestone, Andre's, and Brake Check) - none of those facilities could determine the root cause of the charge / power issue with my truck. I had 2 alternators, 2 batteries, and a general overall performed. Only once (with Andre's) the car actually worked for more than a week. \r \r I was lucky enogh to receive a recommendation regarding Gateway Tire (I was experiencing the same pwr drain issue). Even though I called at least 5 times today, both Ben and Chris were extremely patient, polite, and professional. I just can't say enough about their fantastic customer service. I have no plans on taking my Xterra any other place now - Gateway Tire is truly fantastic. more

I have been a customer of Gateway tire and service center for years. I must say the guys in Tyler know all about customer service. I live a few miles away and while passing others shops I feel very happy with my choosing in those guys. Real professionals outside and inside. I will be a gateway customer for life. more

If you enjoy taking in your vehicle with one problem and it coming out with a host of others then Gateway is for you!\r I have now had 3 vehicles in with issues and each time they have come out worse. The front desk guys are GREAT at convincing you it was pure bad luck and coincidence. The front desk guys are genuinely nice, but I now feel they cover for the scamming mechanics. \r The last visit they broke our air bag system so bad we had to drive to FRISCO to get it fixed. more

On, or about August 23, 2007, we took our car, a 1997 Toyota Camry, for repair at Gateway Tire in Tyler, Texas. It was leaking power steering fluid. The power steering pump had been replaced less than a year before, at Gateway, so a new pump was under warranty. They also had to replace the high pressure hose. This all cost $415.45.\r \r Less than a day after picking the car up, we found power steering fluid all over our garage floor. We returned with the car, and was told it was a loose connection. A couple of days later, we found another puddle, and was told it was again a loose connection. \r \r After finding power steering fluid again, we returned on, or about September 5, 2007. This time they said they replaced the high pressure hose again, and performed an unauthorized repair by replacing the cam shaft seal. This is one of the best service centers that I have ever been too. The staff is great and the service on my car was just awesome. They have a nice cozy waiting area for people to sit in while they are having their car serviced. There prices are very comparable too. They always have coupons and ads going in the paper if you are one that uses those. Great tire center. more
