This is the worst apartment complex I""ve ever lived in. Please don't be lured in by the cheap rates. I moved in last summer. There were no screens in any of the windows. Understandable, they just remodeled. The place was fresh. Well it's almost spring and I still have no screens!! The apartment next to me is vacant but must be a mess because I keep seeing cockroaches in my kitchen. Understand this, I am a clean person. They only seem to bug around the kitchen counters. I've never seen them anywhere else. I;ve sprayed and sprayed but to no avail. I can hear the hoosiers 2 doors from me walk around like there are sumo wrestlers that live there. It is so loud at times I can feel the vibrations. Don't get me started on the neighbors! Don't get me wrong There Are some nice people that live around there but most of the people are ignorant and rude. We don't have assigned parking which is ok if people knew how to use common sense. But when you have a circle drive with people parking this way and that way it's just retarded. God forbid you come home after 7pm, you'll have to walk about a block to you house. You could park in the inner circle where the grass is but then you risk getting stuck in the mud or getting hit by someone backing up into your car which I've seen happen ( and they just drove away ) Winter time is real bad. They do not plow or shovel. All they do is throw salt ( tons of it ) on the sidewalks and on your doorsteps. This winter was especially bad because of all the ice we had. I nearly fell a couple dozen times just trying to get from the house to my car. Then all you did was slide everywhere praying that you don't hit another vehicle or walk outside to find your car was hit. People don't watch their kids either. I have no problem with kids being outside and playing, I have a little one myself. But I am watching what my kid is doing. Not letting them ride their bikes in the middle of the street or walking around to the neighbors porches and breaking things. There is a little boy down the street that can be no older that 5 that is always outside by himself. And when their kids go missing they want to cry about it and wonder ""how could this happen?"" Your electric bill will be over $100 if you wanna stay warm. I keep it on 70. Upstairs will get nice and warm and at times kinda stuffy, but downstairs is like you have the door open. There is no installation in that place what so ever. There is a crawlspace under the apt. and the floor is ice cold. Them are not Thermal windows!! Rainwater seeps in, not through the window, but under the sill through the wall. I haven't been there a full year yet and I can see the studs starting to come through the wall and cracks are running from the corner of the doors to the ceilings. When we had those bad storms I was really scared the place was gonna fall down. Don't bother reporting anything to the office they are rude and have an almighty attitude. They will just jot it down and say they will let maintenence know about it. Wether they do or not I don't know because things never seem to get done around here. There are better apartments in Granite City for around the same price range. Please save yourself from all this hassle and NOT MOVE TO GASLIGHT WALK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
