I took my lawn mower in after calling Gary-N-John's Mowers-N-More to find out how much a service would be ($49.95). I asked him to replace the flap on the back, and asked him to call me to let me know how much it would be if it was over $10.
A week later (no phone call either), I pick up my lawn mower. I was pretty shocked to be told it's $120 because of the extra parts and work he did.
I asked for the $49.95 service; he charged me for a $69.95 tune up, and then added all these parts that I wasn't even told were going to be needed. When I explained this to him, he said, ""I don't have time to explain all that to people."" He was a jerk.
I get that I didn't understand all the fine print. Lesson learned. What i have an issue with is that he became a total jerk when I told him this hadn't been made clear, and he didn't offer to take $20 off (the difference between what I ordered and what he did). His customer service is piss-poor, and he could care less.
