It's our Family Wedding Place! 12/9/2009

I have had three daughters who all have used the Garden Room over the past seven years, two at this facility and one at their other facility in La Habra. Both are beautiful and we were so pleased to hear that our last daughter wanted to get married there too. The quality of the food and service is just excellent and they have not raised their prices in the years we've used them. The value is simply remarkable. In addition to the great food and service, the place is super CLEAN! We attended a wedding for my nephew over 12 years ago and the place looks as clean and as new as it did then. We even noticed several upgrades over the past few years that have made it even better. Thanks Garden Room, from a Happy "Father of the Brides" more

Awesome! 9/24/2008

I loved my wedding at the Garden Room. It was so nice to have everything taken care of in house. We used the recommended photographer, videographer, pastor, and DJ. All were professional and we loved the product. There are rules for weddings here, but we found them to make our day effortless and worry free. We were able to personalize our wedding to accommodate family traditions with no problems. We have heard only positive comments from guests, and have friends who booked their weddings at the Garden Room more

The Staff from HELL!!!!!!! 11/18/2007

For anyone who is planning to have their event at The Garden Room. Please look eleswhere. I don't understand how a place with such awful service can stay in business. It was my cousins sweet 15 and the coordinator and the security guard were very, very, RUDE!!!!!. They had the guest wait outside until they opended the doors at 6:00. The first thing the coordinator and the security guard started to do was tell the kids that were arriving with their families was that there was NO RUNNING IN THE HALL.... Throughtout the event everything was done in a rush. When it came down to have dinner, I kid you not, they gave you 20 minutes to eat . Right after that they started to clear the tables. AT 11:30 they started to pick up the linen while people were still sitting there and kick everybody out right after that. It was the worst experience I've ever witness. SO please think twice before having your special event at this CRAPPY PLACE!!!! DO NOT BOOK YOUR EVENT AT THIS PLACE PLEASEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! more

Don't Be Fooled! 9/26/2007

Your first impression of the venue is that it is beautiful and economical...However, when you try to personalize your event it is not at all what you would have expected. Celebrating at the Garden Room has got to be worst than getting married in Las Vegas in a drive through ceremony. Everything is rushed. They do not know how to think outside of the box. I was the maid of honor in a wedding where the security who does not watch the gifts (as he is hired to do) informed the best man and I that it was our responsibility to "keep everyone in line". Places that the bride and I viewed prior to choosing the Garden Room were more expensive but offered more amenities and more flexibility. It wasn't worth what the bride thought she was going to save. One last thing. At the 30minute rehearsal, yes 30 minutes (no if, ands or buts about it) when the pianist wanted to use the restroom just 15 minutes before our rehearsal time the staff opted for her to wait until the scheduled time. Their customer service ranks below the worst you could ever imagine. There are numerous places that can accommodate your style just do your research. Good Luck! more

Rules, Rules, Rules 9/20/2007

My daughter recently got married @ this establishment, the place was beautiful no doubt, but with so many rules, it's very difficult to have a good time because your overseeing your guest, not to mention the security guard @ hand. A celebration should be just that, it's impossible to control other people or dictate on now they and their families should conduct themselves. I was very disappointed how our guest with children were treated. If I knew what I know now I would of encourage my daughter to have her wedding elsewhere. more

Garden Room is run by the Stepford Wives! 8/27/2006

No, seriously, I'm not even exaggerating a little! I have been to a couple of weddings here, and the people who run this place don't seem to have souls. Everything is very plastic and fake. Worse than that they have tons of rules like, they will not let you, or any of your vendors into the building until just one hour before your event is scheduled to happen. I had a friend whose family had spent days baking traditional cookies from the recipes of both the bride and groom's grandmother's. They arrived about 2 hours before the event. The staff was there, but unwilling to unlock the doors and let them in even just long enough to bring the cookies into the kitchen where they could stay cool. The staff told them that because the bride and groom had not paid extra to have access to the venue at that time, they would not be allowed in the building! This poor family had to sit in their cars with the air conditioners running in hopes of keeping dozens of cookies preserved. I was also witness to the staff taking the best man and maid of honor aside before the event and informing them that they would be responsible for keeping the guests in order! Can you imagine? I have seen people who have had too much to drink forced to get into their cars and leave the property, or force the bride and groom to incur overtime expenses! The list just goes on and on. I realize that this place is pretty convenient and all that, but at what price? Do you really want a cookie cutter wedding that won't even allow you to keep your cookies fresh? more

Easy setup 12/30/2005

The Garden room is one of the easiest places to get married. The garden room provides a spiral staircase to walk down, the gazebo to take pictures at, and the reception area to have your party/celebration in. They provide it all. They will help the bride and groom set up the food and the picture services as well. They are very helpful. They call it the garden room because majority of the colors in the building are white and a very lush evergreen. It is very cozy inside this hall to get married. It is also good for a couple, who financially may not be able to provide a very FANCY wedding, but regardless of the money, a wedding here can look like million dollars. Unfortunately i have been to a few weddings at this location, and have experienced 1 good wedding. I thought that it came from the place, but turned out that it was the time and effort that the bride and groom put into it. So what you put in is what you will get out of it. more

If you are on a tight budget, this may be the place for you 8/22/2005

I went to a wedding recently at the Garden Room and will be attending another in 2 months. I was not fully impressed with this particular establishment. The wedding photographer did not seem to be able to take very good moving, in action type of pictures, because he had the bride stop at each step as she came down the stairway. The minister rushed through the ceremony. No one really likes to sit through the talking and the vows at a wedding anyways, but this was almost rushed in a way that they didn't care about the marriage. The part I think that is nice for couples is the idea that the wedding and reception and pictures can be held all at the same place. The pictures are taken outside, a little walk from the front door by a gazebo. The reception was held a walk down from the place where the wedding was held. The reception area was very dark, it was difficult to see anyone. The food was just. The appetizers were probably the best part, but they were not that good either. The MC did not seem excited to be there. Sounded like a used car salesman. I was kinda saddened, but hoped that the people had a wonderful wedding, despite what I felt about the establishment and food. more
