I was looking for a florist close to the wedding site of Bear Dance Golf course in Larkspur and checked out every florist in the area. Most I was not impressed with and I knew the minute I met Karen that she was who I wanted to go with. Her personality is similar to mine in that she is direct, to the point and take charge. It can be a bit overwhelming to work with a person like this so make sure you are making your desires very clear. She has a very clear path of what she thinks will work based on your initial meeting. She was willing to work with me in finding an item she did not have on hand in order to accomplish what I was trying to do. Unfortunately some of the things I purchased and left with her disappeared in the shuffle over time which was disappointing as I would have like to have gotten them back.
Her designs are unique which was perfect as I was not looking for a traditional look. She has a take charge attitude the day of the wedding and makes things happen. I did not interact with her much on the day of the wedding do to the scheduling. She added an extra touch at the beginning of the aisle which was a nice surprise to me as I approached the aisle with my father.
The only unfortunate thing was as I walked down the aisle I noticed that the vases and table rounds we had agreed on were not used and the ones I had really not wanted were up at the front of the aisle. It was really not the look I was going for but looked fine. I was just disappointed there was a change the day of the wedding. Karen did tell me later she had made the change due to windy conditions. The day could not have been more perfect and there was little to no wind so I am not really sure why the change was made.
All in all the flowers were unique and the look was beautiful, but I had a specific look I was trying to achieve. If you choose to go with The Garden Path you will definitely have a unique and nice finished product. If there is any way to incorporate a last minute change clause, I would recommend it. I got wrapped up in the excitement of it all and just took it for granted that there would be no changes. I wish I had put something in the agreement.
