Games of Berkeley 3/29/2006

If you ever plan game nights, family home nights, or whatever, you need to check out Games of Berkeley. Their selection is huge. Puzzles, board games, you name it: all the innovative games that don't require batteries and a joystick. Also, if your an avid RPGer, or are looking for a group to play, they allow people to use their basement room, and there's a bulletin board up for notices of ongoing games. more

Games of Berkeley 1/4/2006

Games of Berkeley is located in Downtown Berkeley on Shattuck Avenue. It is on the same block as Walgreens and a Bank of America is right across from it. They sell a super wide range of games from board games to card games to other interesting games. The prices aren't that cheap but it's still a very nice store to visit. more

Splendid 11/29/2005

Lots of different games. On football game days, they offere 10 percent discounts for evey one who shows them their ticket stub. The only thing I don't like about it is that we have to sign in our backpacks. It makes it appear as if they don't trust us, and the workers don't seem to have a nice attitude. Overall, if you can think of a game, it has it here. more

Games of Berkeley 8/17/2005

Games of Berkeley is basically a toy store. It has board games, stuff animals, trading cards; things for the gamers and kids. I used to go for the beanie babies while my cousins go for war hammer. There are loads of products for the young and old. The staff is also very nice and helpful. more

pricey and mainstream 8/17/2005

Games of Berkeley is a good compromise between a true gamer's store and a mainstream game/toy store, It has a lot of things that appeal to non-gaming familes as well as some 'transitional' games to invite such browsers to the world of more serious games. There is also a good selection of European games that are difficult to find at mass retailers. There is a decently sized section for roleplayers with books and miniatures from different publishers. Board games galore! 8/16/2005

Games of Berkeley has TONS of games for kids and adults. They literally have the largest selection I've ever seen, from regular board games (chess, checkers) to Dungeons and Dragon type role playing games. They also stock magic tricks, jump ropes, jacks, all the things you remember from your childhood. They have all the latest editions of role playing card games as well. Game on at Games of Berkeley 8/15/2005

I used to stop by Games of Berkeley quite a bit on the way home from school because it was right next to the Berkeley BART station. This store stocks all kinds of games, from classic board games to card games (like Magic the Gathering), and even puzzles and darts. The store also holds various events and tournaments through the year. If you're out of gift ideas, this is a great place to go, especially to buy unique, innovative games nobody's ever heard of. more

Located on the corner of Center and Shattuck, right outside the Downtown Berkeley BART station, Games of Berkeley has an impressive selection of games and gaming goods. While they carry plenty of games and educational toys for children, they also have a big selection of grown-up games, too. They have some awesome chess boards, computer games, board games of every type, puzzles, role playing stuff, and tons more. Their selection definitely rivals that of any toy store in the Bay Area, and if you're looking for a unique or hard to find game, there's a good chance they might have it. more
