This place is an absolute mess so dont go in there if you have any kind of dust, mold, or animal allergies! It is unorganized and dirty as heck. The male owner who thinks he knows EVERYTHING, rudely preached to me for about 20 minutes with incorrect information. Feeling too bad to embarrass him, I neglected to interrupt (He obviously didn't realize I'm a well known dog breeder). They're in it for the money. All the prices are outrageous and all the large bags of animal foods are opened; only to be rebagged into smaller ziplocks from the grocery store (so that they can make 3x the $ off of them!). They advertise on Yahoo (where they have an average rating of 1 out of 5 stars) as "fresh + saltwater fish"....yet they have NOTHING related to saltwater and their freshwater display is embarrassingly lacking in stock and care. Their dog prices are unbelievable even though they lie about them being purebred. Meanwhile, teenagers sell the puppies to any person that walks into the store (scary!) Not recommended at all. I do not want to support this unprofessional, money hungry, so called "business" more

The Gaithersburg Pet Center is one of the best shops for pet supply. I buy all my dog food (for my beagle) and fish food there. Last week, I got a good deal on a fish tank I desperately needed. Prices are pretty good, the people there are very helpful. Just ask, and you'll find what you need. more

If they have what you need, they are better than the superstores. The associates are now very friendly and helpful and will work with you to find what you need- not what the chain is willing to carry. They don't have everything- but what they have is priced well. Parking is great. more

If you are looking for a funky collar, they have it. If you are looking for a unique dog bed, this is the place. I spent 45 minutes not only looking at the fun items, but talking to the friendly owner. You have to stop by. It’s worth the parking-spot hunt. The owner is very nice and helpful. She gets really cute holiday items in stock, but shop early as they go quickly. She also offers gift certificates, if you are looking to get someone a gift. Highly recommended for the pet lover who has a dog, cat, fish, bird, etc. more

We got our second Labrador Retriever at Gaithersburg Pet Center and still doubt that she is pure breed. Our othe Lab is definietly pure and has all his papers. Unlike our experience at the other place (Potomac Kennels), they did not bathe the dog and had teenagers selling them to pretty much anyone. But may I suggest adopting rather than buying? We have promised to do that from now on and do our part with controlling animal breeding. more
