Best

I have been to Gaia twice and loved my experience both times. The roast chicken sandwich with bacon, brie and apple butter on ciabatta is absolutely amazing and probably the best ...

Breakfast is Outstanding 5/22/2010

Friendly staff arrive at your table bearing coffee cake to tide you over until your order arrives. You can bring your own coffee mug without recriminations. And the food - well, you may take some dishes for granted if you haven't ever tried cooking them yourself. Take the eggs - softly scrambled, seasoned well...they make perfection look easy! Inventiveness in the kitchen translates to artfully prepared rifts on chiles rellenos - stuffed with eggs and sausages and ham. The side potatoes are a work of art delicately layered with white cheddar. Even though we drove across town (worth the trip) to try this recommended restaurant, we'll happily return, for we've only just begun to mine the wonders on the menu! Pros: one of the best breakfasts in Denver Cons: you're outstanding if tables are full - no waiting area more

Amazing food 3/27/2010

I have been to Gaia twice and loved my experience both times. The roast chicken sandwich with bacon, brie and apple butter on ciabatta is absolutely amazing and probably the best sandwich I have ever had. This place is so cute and really makes use of local ingredients. They have the knack for pairing interesting things together in a simple way. Pros: food, atmosphere Cons: wait more

Best Breakfast in Town 12/10/2008

Gaia Bistro is tucked off the street in an old victorian house that has been converted into a special restaurant, set in the middle of the garden that procuces a large percentage of the restaurants produce during peak season. I love this place for its dedication to the local only fresh produce meats, dairy and as you read through the incredibly deverse menu (For a breafast and lunch place) you realize that the dedication to tasty affordable food is real here. The coffe is the best you will find in Denver and the patio dinning makes me feel like I am in Paris at a streetside cafe. The service is freindly, fast and you feel like they want you to be there. Check out the monthly wine dinners - OMG they are incredible. Pros: Exellent Food and Service, The place is so good. Cons: Sometimes wait can be long more

Simple to say the least, the fast food of breakfast bistro. If you?re in walking distance go for it! It's worth the walk. But don?t drive. The food is decent, the people are not, the attitude of the employees make you wish you were somewhere else. Don't take time out of your day to check it out. more

Good if you live in the hood 4/9/2008

If you live in the neighborhood, this is a nice place to have breakfast, but I wouldn't make a big effort to get here. The food is very good. I've tried a variety of dishes and have enjoyed them all. The reason for my hesitation is the service. It is S-L-O-W and a little too sassy - and not the good kind of sassy. Every time I've eaten there, I get the feeling that they just have more customers then can handle, and they don't seem happy about it. The space is very small and you will be sitting very close to the tables next to you in kind of uncomfortable seats. You may want to bring your own cup of Joe. They serve their coffee in a French press, which I normally love, but they still haven?t figured out the proper grind for the presses ? it tastes over extracted. The espresso drinks are good, however. Despite these facts, if you live in the neighborhood, you know that we don?t have many breakfast/brunch options since Lola departed (still haven?t gotten over that one) so this isn?t a bad choice. If you bring your newspaper and relax while you wait (and you will wait) for your meal or get to know some of your neighbors, you will probably have a pleasant morning. Pros: The food is very good Cons: Service is very slow and not friendly more

Outstanding Food and Service, Charming Location 1/23/2008

Great hidden gem for breakfast and lunch. Very fresh, locally grown vegetables with wonderful specials and personal service. The owner is funny, friendly, and accomodating. Best place to eat on Old South Pearl! Pros: Cute re-purposed house on charming Old South Pearl as location Cons: Parking can be tricky if you don't live close more

I shouldn't even tell you how good it is... 11/13/2007

I just realized I've not reviewed Gaia despite eating there almost weekly. This gem in the Platt Park neighborhood (that's where Sushi Den is to you uninitiated) is probably the best breakfast in Denver (except if you're looking for greasy diner breakfast, but that's another subject entirely). They do fantastic crepes (both sweet and savory), egg dishes, hot drinks, granola...I could go on. Last weekend I noticed a new egg dish on the menu...baked eggs. To die for. They grow loads of veggies out back, so during the spring-fall, odds are that much of what's in your dish came from the backyard. They bake their own bread (you even get a bit of that day's freshest creation for free while you're trying to decide what to eat). If it hasn't been made clear yet, they are VERY conscientious about their ingredients - organics, locally sourced where possible, etc, and you can taste the difference in their food. The outside seats are the most coveted most of the year and often you'll encounter a wait (and they don't take reservations). It's fantastic. Pros: Fresh, local, often organic ingredients, great neighborhood setting, delicious menu Cons: Parking can be tough, crowded more

Great place for breakast and lunch 6/7/2007

This restaurant has been miscatogorized. It is not a french restaurant at all, rather a down to earth restaurant that serves great breafasts and lunches. This restaurant is known for its great crepes, soups, salads, quiches and sandwiches. They also make artisan breads. It is located in a charming little house. The food is wonderful and service is great. The prices are also very reasonable. Pros: Food, service, location Cons: parking at times more
