G Street Fabrics

I started sewing recently. I didn’t know where to start but I was lucky enough to stumble upon this great store. It is filled from top to bottom with fabrics. They have some great cheap fabrics and they also have some higher end fabrics. The prices vary but you should easily be able to find something in your price range. more

This place takes up the entire basement of the seven corners center, and needs the whole thing. It has tens of thousands of different fabrics of every imaginable material. My wife got the stuff for her wedding gown here, and there was 50 or 60 different fabrics just in the off-white category of whatever the formal fabrics are called. She's also taking some of their sewing courses- they offer from introductory through advanced on site. more

G Street fabrics in Falls Church is an expansive fabric store. They offer a great selection of specialty fabrics, tons of fleece and wovens, and great high-quality sewing machines. They don't carry many knit fabrics or many licensed fabrics, so those are better found elsewhere. The prices at G street fabrics are average to high, but they run great sales which more than make up for their normal prices. They also offer classes and a wonderfully organized pattern section. more

Oh, my this is fun! I have been to many fabric stores, but this is the best, by far. The store in Falls Church is a little misleading. When I first walked inside (never having been to a G Street Fabrics store before) I was disappointed to see a small room with a couple of fabrics to choose from. I thought that that was the entire store. Oh, how I was wrong! The cashier directed me to the escalator that lead us down to the bottom floor. What I saw then was a huge fabric wonderland. This store even has sewing classes with high-tech sewing machines for the sewing novices, like me. G Street sells designer prints that start from $20.00 a yard (Yikes!) to more affordable prints for $8.99 a yard. Plus, the sales wrack. If you are into fabrics, you have to check this place out. more
