Hidden Treasure 5/10/2011

I stumbled on Fusion on my way home from work, would've never known it's there since it's tucked away in the middle of the block on 10th Ave. The happy hour drink specials listed on their sign caught my eye and I ventured in, only to realize they had a garden! They got a super delicious deal on happy hour cosmos that I go back for as often as I can. I've had friends meet me here before dinner or a show and everything is always great. Great neighborhood place. more

My kinda place 5/5/2011

I had read a few of the reviews of Fusion online and it sounded like the type of place my girlfriend and I would enjoy going to. We hit the nail on the head!! It's a great looking place, has a great vibe and most importantly, they don't shortchange you on the drinks - they're strong. It's become our neighborhood bar and been there on a few different nights of the week. It can be a laid back and mellow place, but when it gets buzzin' you never know who you're gonna run into, definitely a mixed crowd kinda place. It feels like what I remember the downtown scene used to be years ago. If you like whiskey, try the Southern Bang! more

Strong, creative drinks 1/17/2011

Friendly bartender set the mood while we waited for Colbert show across the street. Good strong drinks and we used the citysearch 2 for 1 special. Can't beat it. No food, but allowed us to order in. more

Fusion, VERY GOOD! 12/4/2009

Good drinks, great staff, comfortable ambiance, good crowd Pros: staff, comfortable ambiance more

Very cool atmosphere 1/27/2009

Upscale vibe and ambience, without the snooty company. Cool setup and music, super clean, strong drinks and very friendly staff. Always a great time when I go, Happy hour is key! The place is never over-crowded like many others and I personally favor the outdoor section in the back, for us smokers. And for those of us that drive,,, theres always parking too. Highly recommended. Pros: Atmosphere Cons: none more

Such a Good Time! 1/23/2009

I was at Fusion for a birthday gathering and had such an awesome night! The baretenders were all amazing, the decor is hot, there was a really mixed crowd and the drink prices were very reasonable. I rarely venture over to 10th Ave, but now I have a reason to go back! I would highly recommend this bar to anyone who is looking for a trendy night spot and a great time! Kudos, Fusion! Pros: Great service, great atmosphere. Cons: They closed the smoking porch really early. more

Cool Bar 12/16/2008

Fusion isn't one of those pretentious bar/lounges that tend to pop up all over the place or go in & out of style like a pair of jeans. It's simply a great neighborhood bar with a good waitstaff, friendly owner and fellow customers that make it a place to always want to return. Pros: Staff, Comfortable Feel Cons: None more

Blah bar 12/1/2008

Frankly i'm surprised this place would make anyone's best list - though maybe it all comes down to timing. I went here after work midweek - the place was half empty, and the bartender was less than accomodating. You can order food from a restaurant next door (diner fare). there's a back garden to sit in, and a little front area that's comfortable for a group, but otherwise the space is very narrow. The vibe sucked, basically, the drinks weren't that strong, and the soda was flat. There are better options in this area. Pros: back garden seating, happy hour prices Cons: the vibe, the quality of the drinks more

Fusion is a Great place! 9/21/2008

I've been here a couple of times and really enjoyed myself. Very nice staff making very good drinks in a comfortable, down to earth atmosphere. Good for dates or just to hang with friends or coworkers. It's the kind of place that fits for all occasions. Pros: Service, Drinks, Ambiance more

Could be the friendlies bar in NYC! 3/14/2008

Is this the friendliest bar in New York? It sure is close! Dividing lines between one group, one table, fade quickly. Everyone is instant pals. Even the staff are quick-as-a-downed beer are at your table chatting away. If I lived around here, it would be my regular. Everyone in the place just seems like they're having fun.. .and they want you to join in with them! Food comes from nearby places and is not top notch... especially after the pizza places close at 11. But mediocre food is a small price to pay for instant pals. Brings a smile to my face just to think of the place! --Drink Club NYC is a roving group of NYC Drinkers Pros: Super friendly staff, patrons, everybody! Decent beer selection Cons: mediocre food delivery from outside, out of the way more

One of my favorite bars 2/12/2007

I've been here a few times with a friend that works around the corner, and it is a great place to kick back and relax. I love the dark atmosphere inside, and the bartenders are always nice. During the week it is never crowded or noisy...definitely the kind of bar I prefer. more

Feel at home bar 9/25/2006

Great place with eclectic mix of characters. Not pretentious, yet hip and stylish. Great DJ, Great garden and friendly staff. Felt comfort the moment I walked thru the door. Plenty of parking for us New Yorkers wealthy enough to own cars. Nice cocktail selection and generous amounts of alcohol in the drinks. I liked it so much, I am planning on throwing a b-day party at Fusion for my favorite girl. The owner is a prince. Pros: Great Music Cons: No dance floor more

The owner is really friendly - he even remembers people's names. 9/19/2006

The owner is really great - very friendly and attentive. The front seating area is a great place to hang out. Cool vibe. Pros: thumbs up Cons: sometimes crowded but not too bad more

Best hangout to drink and talk and drink and talk and have fun 9/18/2006

I love hanging out at Fusion. My husband and I can be there hours. It is very romantic and the staff very courteous. Pros: the lighting, the atmosphere, the drinks Cons: we can hardly find a sitter for the kids so we can go more often more

Great Lounge... truly one of NYC's best! 9/7/2006

Fusion is really one of the greatest bars NYC has to offer. Not sure what Allison was expecting, but you don't go to Fusion for the food (although from my experience -- even the takeout has been tasty); and you should know that table service is not reliable if it's busy. Just grab your drink and chill in the garden. Here's why you go to Fusion: great drinks (killer Mohitos), the warm and inviting atmosphere, and low-key yet very sophisticated surroudings. The bar staff is one of the friendliest I've ever come across (and I've been to many bars) -- not to mention the owner who is truly one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet. Everyone I've taken to Fusion has loved it... 10+++ need I say more??? Pros: Great drinks, great staff, nice beats... very romantic Cons: Often go home quite drunk because I've had too much fun ;-) more

bad bar patron, I guess........ 8/22/2006

allison 718, did it ever occur to you that maybe you were the rude one or maybe even...OMG a "witch", cold fries, "oh my", go to a restuarant! It is a bar! You sound like you think that you are Paris Hilton. I have been going there for over 2 years, and it is the BEST BAR IN THE CITY. more

Bad night, I guess 7/20/2006

I wanted to like this place. At least I liked the *idea* of this place. When I was there, after work on a Thursday, we chose to sit in the back garden. It was full, as one would expect on a warm summer thursday evening. Problem was that the bar was terribly understaffed. It took a a good 15 mins. before anyone even came to take our drink orders, then another 20 mins. to get the actual beverages. Food was another disaster. Grilled chicken sandwich and french fries arrived cold. It was explained to us that the food was delivered from another restaurant, so what did we expect? Um, well I don't expect cold french fries, thanks. And I don't expect the waitstaff to give me 'tude. Pros: garden Cons: far west, no kitchen more

Great Bar/Lounge 7/10/2005

I stumbled onto this place a few months back and it has quickly become one of my favorite bars/lounges in NYC. Don't be fooled by the sign outside: the space is sleek and sophisticated, yet unpretentious. The bartenders are always warm and friendly, the drinks great and reasonably priced (esp. for NYC). Oh yea: the garden out back is also a real find; especially for your friends who still need to light up. Highly recommended! more

Very Cool ! ! 4/8/2005

I came upon Fusion while walking up Tenth Avenue a couple of weeks ago -- I live in the neighborhood and it's now my new hangout. The crowd is totally diverse--each time I walk in, there's a different vibe. I've been hangin' there on the weekends when they have DJs - and the music is always on the money -- love the courtyard. Very cool staff. Very cool place. Pros: Music, Garden, Drinks more

Thanks for a good time, we'll be back. 4/8/2005

My girlfriend and I recently had our engagement party at Fusion and we all had a great time. This was my second time there after having stopped by for drinks one night with a few co-workers. It's a swanky lookin place without the attitude and best of all the drinks are stiff. If you like bourbon, try the Southern Bang, it's on the drink menu, good stuff. Pros: Cocktails, Garden, Service more

Editorial
  • The Scene
Fusion pioneered a spate of attractive watering holes opening in Hell's Kitchen. Its long, thin bar with bright red walls gives way to a cool, blue-painted back lounge, with comfy mod sofas, artwork for sale on the walls, and a tiny adjoining patio that allows smokers to indulge during warm months. On weekday evenings, Fusion attracts the media set, with workers from nearby CBS and Sony studios jamming into the diminutive space to take advantage of happy hour. On weekends, hipsters mingle with hip-hoppers from the hood while a DJ spins '80s tunes and pop.

    The Draw
Regulars come for the warm atmosphere and eclectic drink menu, which includes apple martinis, lethal mojitos and Fusion's signature cocktail, the Pussyfoot, a fruity concoction that tastes like an alcoholic creamsicle. Various raffles and promotions, such as a Las Vegas weekend getaway sponsored by a liquor company, offer added value to your hangover.
