I put a down payment on a five drawer dresser, to have it ordered and arrive at the store in 7 days. It took 11 days ( which is really not too bad). I had to call two days past due date to find out where it was and was told it had been delayed and would be there in another two days. I called that morning (a fri) and was told they wouldn't have it until after 2pm. They called at 2:30pm and told me it had arrived and I had until 7 to pick it up or I could pick it up between 10am-11am Saturday. I asked why only one hour and was told by ""Timmy"" that was the only time they had people in the warehouse to unpack it so I could inspect it before taking it home. I called at 10:30am on Saturday and spoke with ""Timmy"" I told him my husband had been called to work and that I could not pick it up before 11am. I asked if it was available for pick up on Sunday, he said no. I told him then we would have to pick it up on Monday. He said ""ok between 10am-11am. I asked if that was the only pick up time at all and he said yes and repeated the ""people in the warehouse"" pitch. I told him that it would not work for us, and why hadn't they told us that when we bought it, and why it was nowhere on the receipt he said ""well did you didn't ask."" & ""Those are the rules"" (his words) That was enough for me and I said I would come down for a refund and he said I would be short 30% restocking fee. He was condescending, rude, hot tempered, and blamed me for having an attitude with him. I called my bank for a claim and when they called he was the same with them, and changed some key pieces of his story. They filed the claim, and I called one last time and offered to come pick it up immediately or to be given a full refund and he told me it was available for pick up, he said I misunderstood him and that I had asked for help to load it into my car and that was why it was only a hour window pick up time. I told him I had never asked for help. It was only ever stated that I would be inspecting it before signing for it and taking it home. I went to pick it up, and yooou guessed it, it was damaged. The woman who originally sold me the piece said she could use a wood marker to color in the nicks taken out of it, or reorder it. I told her neither was acceptable, I told her had her son not treated me the way he had I would have been inclined to let her order another but that I no longer trusted the store. Even though when I bought it I was assured I would get a full refund if it was not in perfect condition, she told me no, 30% fee for restocking. My bank is now going after them, and I have the fun task of writing reviews, notifying the BBB, and trying to find my son a dresser.
