Fresh & Delicious every time! 7/17/2011

I love this place! We've been going for a few years. I had to write something when I saw the previous review from accentlawns about Fujiyama. This place is amazing & I've been to most of the Japanese restaurants in & around Nashville, Brentwood & Franklin. The food is fresh & creative, wait staff is kind & helpful, they make you feel like family. more

Will never go there again!!! 3/25/2011

If I could score a zero, I would! Although we did not try the sushi, my husband and I ordered the Hibatchi Chicken and Hibatchi filet mingon. Our total bill was $50. I was sick about paying $50 for that garbage. We packed the food up and brought it home to our dog and drove over to Logan's Roadhouse to eat. They food had a terrible flavor and the rice tasted old and not at all like Hibatchi rice. The meat was cold. I will never ever go there again! It does not compare to Goten which in my opinion is the best Japanese food in town. more

One of the Best Sushi in Nashville 1/7/2011

My family hits up Fujiyummi (as I like to call it) at least once a month. They have the freshest sushi I have found in Nashville. more

5 STARS AREN'T ENOUGH! 10/24/2010

This place has passed all other sushi places in Nashville. The lack of a ultra-high-visibility location means there's always room for more sushi lovers! And the wait is always shorter than other sushi places, even though it's obvious these master chefs take as much pride in their rolls as the care they give when making them. The staff is always friendly and recognizes us when we go, and the food is absolutely TO DIE FOR. Freshest sushi in town, wildly varied rolls (ask for the 'specials' menu), wonderful ambiance, superb, attentive service, and total consistency from visit to visit. Fujiyama is NASHVILLE'S BEST SUSHI. more

Awesome Sushi and Great Service!! 3/7/2010

The sushi is always fresh! The staff are so friendly, the chef is incredible, and the owners are always so happy to see us. The food is presented with a lot of flare. The hours are great and the restauraunt is always clean. My husband and I have tried most sushi places in town and Fujiyama is by far our favorite. Since finding it we eat there at least once a week. Yum!!! Pros: Best tempura and beautiful presentation! Cons: Miso soup and ginger dressing are just ok. more

Great place, freshest sushi 1/9/2010

This is our main sushi place in Nashville. We have been to many other sushi restaurants in Nashville and this is by far one of the best for the price and amount. They also offer grill food for those that do not like raw food. The Saki leaves something to be desired but overall this is my favorite for sushi. A must try, if you dont like it then you can go to your favorite place but at least you have tried it. Pros: Sushi always fresh and plentiful, grill items, good staff Cons: They never have Sea Urchin or Salmon Roe. more

Great Fresh Sushi, Great Service! 8/4/2009

Yum. The sushi is great. The service is amazing. The choices are endless. The recommendations are fun! I enjoy everything about this restaurant. Sushi can be expensive anywhere you go...and this isn't TOO bad. So expect to drop at least $50 if you want a few rolls, and a beverage for a party of two. It's the best sushi I've had in Nashville to date. Thanks Fujiyama! :) Pros: Quiet Environment, Amazing Sushi, Wonderful Staff Cons: None more

Best Sushi & Miso soup!! 8/12/2007

My husband and I first ate at Fujiyama the weekend it opened and have been back numerous times since. (We've lost count!) Fujiyama is fabulous! So far, there has never been any wait to be seated and the staff is VERY attentive and friendly. The sushi is fresh and better than any other sushi place we have ever been to. Our favorites include the Fuji Mountain, Nashville roll, Alaska roll, Tiger roll (spicy), and California roll dinner (18pc--the best California roll we've ever had!). The Miso soup is excellent, as well as the tempura. Take-out is very convenient as well. There is plenty of parking. While the neighborhood looks a little sketchy, the area is being improved with the new Best Buy, Costco, Target, etc shopping center. The restaurant is very easy to get to, as it is located between Exits 201 and 204 off of I-40. We LOVE Fujiyama's, and we will keep going back for more sushi!! Pros: Excellent food, service, parking more

Hands down, the best sushi in town! 8/3/2007

If you are looking for a wide variety of sushi to choose from, this is the place for you! My husband and I are avid sushi eaters, always looking for a new hot spot. This place tops the list! Their seafood tempura is also phenominal. I can't think of another place that actually gives you tempura scallops (AMAZING!). The price is well worth it; this sushi is fresh and made perfectly. Plus, there are so many choices on the menu. This is a great place to come with a group, have everyone order something different, and share. It lacks the glamorous habachi grill, but the atmosphere is so much better than at those places. Plus, this place gives you real miso soup, not chicken broth, with the meal. As other people mentioned, don't let the locaton scare you. This place is by far Nashville's best kept secret! Pros: Sushi choices, parking, service! Cons: Located at a crappy part of town, but worth the risk! more

My new Fav place 6/6/2007

OK people like other reviwers have said don't let the loaction scare you or you will miss out on one very good sushi place. That being said yes it is a little pricey but I for one am tried of paying less money for mediocre sushi. Where one day its good and you go back the next week and it's not good at all. This place does not disappoint. It is fresh and ohh so good and the service was execellent. I was hungry so I had a little bit of everything. The avacodo rolls where perfect, the tempura sweet potatoes maybe a little greasy but still excellent and I had the miso soup and Ginger chicken. Ohh was that heaven. The miso soup for once didn't taste like the salt shaker had been dumped into it and the ginger chicken and a really nice ginger snap to it. And the presentation with the fruit on the side was a wonderful suprise. My son and I will be going back to this place every chance we get. You have got to try this place if you are tired of sub-par sushi. Pros: great food all around, service Cons: location (but I can over look that for the yummy food) more

Capital DElicious 4/12/2007

I just recently moved from California to Nashville and I was looking for a Japanese restaurant to try. I am not exaggerating when I say Fujiyama is the best Japanese restaurant in town; the food is fresh, the staff is attentive, and it is worth every penny. Don't let the location fool you, it is the best hidden Japanese secret in Nashville. I dine there at least once a week and Ryan (sushi chef) always offers new dishes to try. Pros: Fresh fish, friendly staff, convenient parking, great hours more

Great presentation 3/28/2007

Thought it was a little pricey, but the experience was worth it for Saturday date night. Great presentation...the Dragon Roll is something to see. Very clean, more so than other cheaper sushi places, cozy atmosphere. Pros: Freshness, presentation, selection Cons: Pricey more

Don't let the location scare you! 3/11/2007

We were hesitant at first to try this new Japanese Restaurant located off Charlotte Pike, but we were so glad that we did! There is a wide spectrum of choices on the menu, from sushi to hibachi to udon entrees and more. The sushi was incredibly fresh with great presentation and definately in my top 3, although it was a bit pricey, it was worth it. The atmosphere is friendly and very clean, and the staff were very helpful with recommendations from the menu. We will definately be back! Pros: Fresh fish, wide selection, friendly staff, great atmosphere Cons: a bit pricey more

Good Sushi.....Too Pricey 2/15/2007

This was our first visit to Fujiyama but we didn't expect it to be so pricey located off of Charlotte Pike. The server was not attentive to our needs....we had to ask for more hot tea, water, soy sauce, etc. Overall the sushi was good but Nashville has better sushi restaurants with more resonable prices. Pros: Nice, clean, ambience very good Cons: Price more
