This new Chevy Chase cupcakery appeals to girls like me who are admittedly influenced by the look and feel of a place even before taking a bite of the food. The small bakery is chicly decorated: lots of white, lots of pretty accents, and a chandelier. But Frosting doesn't stop delivering there; the cupcakes are delicious and prove to be a worthy addition to DC's thriving cupcake scene. I'm particularly a fan of their Campfire cupcake, which tastes very close to its inspiration, the s'more: the cake is light with a hint of cinnamon and evokes a graham cracker, with decadent chocolate ganache and a soft marshmallow cream on top. The Cookie MOMster also tastes very much like an Oreo with its creamy white frosting. Frosting also offers a great Red Velvet with a cream cheese buttercream frosting that's beautifully simple yet on-par with all the other cupcakeries' Red Velvets. Frosting also offers baked goods and coffee, making them a legit bakery and not just a cupcake spot. If you're ever in the Chevy Chase/Friendship Heights area, make an effort to swing by.
Pros: delicious, original cupcake flavors, good classic flavors
Cons: on the outskirts of DC, very limited seating area
