Sorry, Not Impressed 10/21/2009

Paid $1.70 each for 12oz cans of soda. Only offered 3 types of Coke products which the hostess informed us very rudely. The restaurant is very small and not welcoming to children. No children's menu. $34 total for 2 adults and 1 child. Most omelets are $9.50. Plain Belgian Waffle is $6.70. Could have bought the wafflemaker we having been eyeing for that price and now wish we had. The wait staff was gossiping loudly among themselves while cleaning the seating area. Decor is cute and big portions. Pros: Big Portions Cons: High Price, Rude Service more

Over rated and over priced 6/28/2009

The frog pond has a clique that centers around the gayness of its owners. Somehow, if you are gay it must mean you have good taste in all things. Unfortunately, that does not apply to their coffee. It is the absolutely worst dishwater on the beach. Seating arrangements during crowded times are by your relative social standing in the eyes of the management. Snobbery rules this establishment. Neither the quality of their food nor the level of their service justifies enduring the cramped seating and cacophonous noise while eating here. Try the Shore Grill (Barnies coffee and Stricklands Ice Cream) or the Conch Republic. The Sweet Sage is also good . Pros: Large portions Cons: Larger prices more

By far the best benidict anywhere 3/10/2009

SAVE YOUR MONEY AND TIME !!!!!!! 1/1/2009

Six of us visited the Frog Pond today. We heard it was a great place. Good food, nice decor, friendly, large portions, and excellent service. I ordered the basic breakfast, eggs, bacon, toast, home fries. The white toast came out rye, the bacon was barely cooked, home fries totally burnt, eggs cold, orange juice in a cup the size of a large shot glass. I asked the server to correct it and waited another 15 mins before she even came back to ask what was wrong, by then everyone had eaten their meals. That was a waste of $10.00 on my part. And by the way a party of six was $77.00 without tip. Save your money and time go to the waffle house or I-hop you will be in and out in 20 mins and spend less. Pros: CLEAN, FRIENDLY, NICE DECOR Cons: CHECK YOUR ORDER BEFORE EATING. more

Not impressed at all 2/27/2008

I decline to go every time I am invited to the Frog Pond. Not only is the wait ridiculous but the food is overpriced and there is no room in there. You feel like you are pressed up to the person next to you. I have never been impressed by the food. The only thing I like is the gift shop next door. Cons: Over-rated more

Very busy place but short wait time and excellent service 12/5/2007

My husband and I were very pleased with the friendly and courteous staff! Although they were very busy they took very good care of us. At first glance the menu seems to be very pricey but for the amount of food you get and for how good the service is you can't beat it. Pros: Great service, friendly staff. Cons: Noise level is high because they are so busy. more

Maybe the Best Breakfast Restaurant in Florida 12/8/2005

This restaurant has added pounds to my old body and believe me, it has been worth every ounce. I don't care what you order, every item on their menu is nothing short of AWESOME. I guess that the best way to describe this place - - how many restaurants do you know that have been in business for 23 plus years, still owned by the same people and they still work there, treating their customers like each and everyone is part of the Frog Pond Family. Pros: great taste, large portions, great service Cons: sometimes get loud, during the winter, snow birds fill place more

Good....For Pinellas 10/3/2005

Had brunch there last week. Waited 40 minutes to be seated. Had a basic bacon and cheese omlette. The bacon was a pre-cooked reheated mass in the center with cheese and omlette folded over it into a fake looking half moon shape. Had to cut thru the bacon cement with a knife which is a real no-no for an omlette. Taste was ok and better than anything else I've had in Pinellas since moving here 6 months ago. Still, for the price it was a mild dissapointment. Service was very good and the coffee wasn't bad. Portion size was good. Do I have to go to Tampa for a really good brunch? Pros: food, cute decor, service Cons: noisy, crowded, a bit pricey more

miles ahead but.... 8/16/2005

If any readers know the frog pond, you know the portions. Well my 8 year old 50 lb daughter finished her belgian waffle and I finished my banana foster waffle still hungry. the other breakfast entrees an omelette, french toast and blue berry pancakes were old school frog pond. if i am paying 8 dollars for a waffle i better struggle to finish it. The place is not cheap but there a step above the rest. its very clean, the service is tops and the fruit platters of past orderings were huge and fresh. Family of 5, 3 kids under 10 be prepared to spend $50 for breakfast. I may bitch and moan but i'll be back hopefully they'll juice up the waffle more

Huge Portions 6/16/2005

If you're starved and bring starving friends you could all share 1 plate and still fill up - massive portions, omelets are terrific, special omlets on holidays are to die for. Pros: great omelets, unusual omelets, good quality Cons: you'll be stuffed, you'll be addicted, very! crowded more

Go Hungry! 9/20/2004

We could not believe the size of the omelettes!!! Huge! We brought home the leftovers and enjoyed them the next morning. The place is casually fantastic, the owner that we met was delightful & charming. We will be back during our next visit. Pros: meal portions, casual atmosphere, service more

Best Breakfast on the Beach 5/31/2004

Have been patronizing this establishment since its inception and have never been disappointed in the food, the service or the atmosphere. Just be prepared to wait to be seated, because the pre-discovery days are long over and people come from miles around to breakfast and brunch here Pros: Friendly, Excellent Food, Hefty Portions more

Frog Pond Fantastique 12/11/2003

It doesn't get any better than the Frog Pond. Located directly across Gulf Blvd. from our timeshare, The Redington Ambassador, we spend three delightful weeks in the Fall dining at the Frog Pond for breakfast & lunch. The food, wait staff and atmosphere are simply the best. Pros: food, portions, waitstagg Cons: none, none, none more

Should be way up there... 11/24/2002

Don't be confused...my name may be frogluvrrr, but that has nothing to do with this restaurant. Just a coincidence. The BEST omelettes anywhere...big, hearty, tasty... I've never seen anyone be able to finish their breakfast here, there's so much good food! Too bad they close early, I'd love to see what they could do with some of my favorite dinner dishes. Pros: Large Portions, Reliable, Good Food Cons: Small Dining Room more

Awesome eggs benedict!!! 11/6/2002

I love the Frog Pond, the service is fast, the food is great, and the staff is friendly. And right across the street from the beach, it hardly gets much better than this! Pros: good menu selection, good coffee Cons: tables are small, small parking lot more

Fun Name; Fun, Friendly Atmosphere! 8/30/2002

This place is great! There is definitely always a wait, but they are right across the street from my condo. I go there for breakfast often. Their omelets are gigantic and so good. The food always comes out hot and fresh. The servers are great also. Everyone is very friendly, even the owner who mingles the crowd. The restaurant is filled with all kinds of things to catch the eye. It seems like I see simething new every time. The best part is that you can take your whole family there, eat like kings and queens, and it doesn't kill your pocketbook. All of the prices are great. This is just an all around rare place in my book. The perfect little place to eat! Pros: Inexpensive, Great Food, Friendly Workers Cons: Limited Parking, Wait long at times, Crowded more
