Wednesday night, Half-priced drinks 7/14/2007

The last place you would expect to fine bare-chested bartenders and excellent views of free-spirited homosexuals east of Sunnyside resides in this Roosevelt Ave escape. All you have to due is take the seven train to 74th Street and walk to 78th and Roosevelt. The legions of predominantly South American locals who?s favorite sport is soccer celebrate their sexual freedom which makes for a relaxing and social club. A perennial signal brings you back to the first time you participated at Greenwich Village?s annual Halloween parade. After you gulp down half-priced caliber shots with moniker?s known to locals as ?Blowjobs?, ?An Org..sm?, "V..gina" you can find yourself a late night snack consisting of arrepas, tacos, and tortas that exude the Latino heritage. Before nine-o?clock drinks are half price. The company is extremely sexually and highly intoxicated. Your best bet is to trust your instincts and find someone you can bring so when the night is over you can discuss what memorable moments you encountered. Pros: Easy to get to by Tain Cons: Parking more

Editorial
  • The Scene
Close to the waterfront, this former sailor's pub on the edge of Brooklyn Heights now gives safe harbor to a motley fleet of gays and lesbians. Shaggy neighborhood boys and girls, adventurous professionals and assorted ruffians down a full-bar array of drinks and cruise each other in this roomy, ornately paneled establishment.

    The Draw
The weekend drag shows, performed by queens of every color and shape, run the gamut from divine to lackluster. But in the event the hired entertainment disappoints, there's always the pool table, video games, TV screens, pop-, rock- and salsa-filled jukebox and the rare bar brawl to keep things lively.
