The Friendly Inn is actually a bar - a road house in the best sense. It is the type of place you would drive by and not notice - or if you did notice, you would probably not go it. BUT YOU SHOULD!
The atmosphere - like the name suggests - is as friendly as you can imagine. There is live bluegrass music almost every night. Gisela Woelper has been the owner and operator of The Friendly Inn for over twenty years - and has her own interesting story to tell. (How DID she come to own a bluegrass bar in Maryland?) The drinks are cheap, the buiding is tiny and the people are fabulous! You see everyone from young muscians raised in the bluegrass tradition, to professionals on their way home to their McMansions, to old cowboys who are happy to share their haunt with you.
If you love to experience life - this is a slice you won't want to pass up.
