While everyone there is friendly and such- some of the hygienists are not gentle at all when doing adjustments. I've had my gums cut multiple times... some of the hygienists put too much pressure on a tool when trying to close or open a bracket. Only one hygienist I've ever had however; was smart enough to use the "clamp" tool to close the bracket instead of trying to use force to jam them shut.
I've also been quite unsatisfied after many of my adjustment visits... on top of my gums bleeding after many of my visits; I'll get home to find they haven't cut a wire in the back short enough. Even more annoying- is the fact that when they leave the wires too long; they poke right through the orthodontic wax, so the irritation continues even as they say the wax will work fine.
In conclusion, while the atmosphere of the place is warm and the people friendly, the treatment and adjustments are painful and irritating. I understand that with braces; aches and sores are part of the experience: but un-cut wires and tools (that the hygienists should be trained to use correctly) that injure more then help are unnecessary. I have many friends with braces and I'm usually the only one with my cheek bleeding as I try to eat...
Dr. Frey and one hygienist are the only people who actually take a gentle approach to treatment... they use the right tools instead of trying to "manpower" the brackets shut.
I hope this review will cause some change to happen over there... Thanks for reading.
