They forgot to put chicken on one of the quesadillas so it went to waste no one ate it. The plain cheese quesadilla that was labeled as plain had the cheese half melted. I love this restaurant but I guess the chef had an off night?. more

I was pleasantly surprised, especially with the black bean soup and the tostada salad. The tostada salad came with a HUGE container of very well-seasoned, nicely spiced steak. I was very pleased. Look, you know what this kind of food is, but this was BY FAR and including tons of this kind of food in NoHo AND Windsor Terrace AND Kensington in Brooklyn, the best. more

Okay so they aren't very authentic... But the food is fresh and very good. Their homemade tortillas are really great. The shrimp, lettuce, tomato and cheese soft shell taco is our favorite. Their chicken is also very good. The prices are good and the service is fast. Food it not oily or messy at all which is also nice. It's not very authentic mexican but its a great quick dinner or snack. more

Al Carbon is the best steak soft taco. Only comparable was at a small roadside joint in the middle of Mexico that was grilling up steak strips on fresh tortillas all day for about $0.30 a taco. These are a bit pricer at $2.69, but wow are they good. Don't let the simplicity deter you, the tortillas are fresh, hot dough and the steak is seasoned just enough to be interesting and addictive. You can order sour cream, jack cheese, and lettuce/tomatoes as sides to add them to your tacos. All cost extra, but still can get out of their pretty cheap. Or, just order a bunch of them, swing by the store for the toppings, and have a freaking Al Carbon party! This place is strangley enough operated by a seemingly all asian team, serving great mexican street food. more
