Good: Professional Financial Mangers. Good Website. Solid and well done Quarterly Reports. Easy to track results. Excellent service staff. Legitimate and ethical company.. Bad: Arrogant and condescending senior staff. Projected an attitude that "we know best". "You pay us to manage your $$, so stay out of our way and let us do our job. From 9/07 to 11/08 the value of our portfolio dropped 224,586 (32.4%). Improvements: The period referenced above was bad for everyone. But we should learn from our mistakes. I would like to see FCM more responsive when concerns are expressed. We could have stopped the bleeding long before we moved our account... Other: On balance not a bad money management firm, but there are better ones.. more

I've worked with them for four years now... not a pretty time for investments, but they've done better than others. They have a mix of portfolios that they manage with their internal team and others managed by outside experts. Probably strongest on alternative investments, which was why I was steered toward them in the first place. The team I work with is experienced (advisory and assistant) and pretty responsive (not perfect, but good enough). They aren't afraid to tell it to me straight, which is refreshing. more

Yes, customer service has not been great. The lower level admin staff are fine but the account managers and higher, definite issues. Which would be OK if their investment returns were better than average. but I have not found that to be the case. more

I have not worked with Freestone...but they are regarded as amongst the best in the city. They're not particularly great at customer service but they're performance is tough to beat in the city. Very good --- from what I know. more
