Editorial review from Citysearch 12/3/2013

I went to a previous mechanic that wanted to charge me $110 to do a diagnostic inspection PLUS additional charges to fix my car. The car ran fine as did everything in it but I kept getting stuck in park. I was floored as the car ran perfectly except it got stuck in park. The owner was very emphatic about that would just be to find out the cause for the problem and there would be an additional cost for repair. I was very disappointed and left.\r Called a lady friend (I am a female) and told her the situation, she said she would call me back in a few minutes with the name and number of her mechanic. She spoke to her mechanic told him my situation and then called me and gave me his name and the address for Freedom Auto Works on Dunlap in Phoenix. I went down to the place. I told him what happened and he said he thought he knew what was wrong with it but that he could not guarantee that was the problem. I told him to go for it. Sure enough he came back and the problem was fixed. I could not believe my good fortune. I asked him what was the cause and how much. He told me it was a fuse and when I asked how much he said, ""No charge"". I felt like I had won the lottery. I highly recommend Lou and Freedom Auto Works; you can rest assured you will not be taken for a ride at his shop.\r more

I got the run around from other places telling me they couldn't fix my transmission without major diagnostics. It was leaking all over the place, and within a couple of hours, Freedom Auto Works found the problems, tightened things down, and flushed the system. The final cost was around $150. Any transmission work under $400 seems to be a miracle. Besides this, the transmission works great, and it hasn't leaked even a single drop since I got it repaired three weeks ago. I also my front brakes totally redone, rotors, calipers, and pads done for a very reasonable price. I am impressed enough to drive from Buckeye to get my car serviced there. Pros: They know their stuff and will only service what needs it. Cons: It's really far from those of us who live west of Goodyear. more
