Chopped liver went bad in less than 24 hours 2/13/2016

Last Sunday I drove from East Windsor to Freehold specifically to go to Fred & Murry's to bring home their chopped liver, which, on previous occasions, had been tasty and fresh. I bought 1 1/2 pounds. I enjoyed the chopped liver for dinner, but the following day at lunch it had a nasty smell and when I tasted it, it had spoiled. I had brought the chopped liver home packed in ice and refrigerated it. I threw the chopped liver in the garbage after spending over $22.00 on it. I won't go back to Fred & Murry's again. more

Good food 5/9/2007

A very good deli. The staff is friendly and the food is good. Their onion rings are worthy of special mention, they're the best around! Prices are typical for the area. more

Very Good Quality Food! 10/14/2005

Very Good Quality Food! I had this food catered to my sons bris and it was top notch. Everything was ready on time and the platters loked great. The food was delicious. The prices were comparable with others in the neighborhood. more

  • Established in 1960 on Ralph Avenue in Brooklyn, New York, Fred & Murry's has stood for quality and tradition for almost half a century. In 1981, brothers Fred and Murry Chalnick and brother in-law Morty Lupowitz ventured across the Verrazzano Bridge into the then uncharted wilderness of Central New Jersey.

    Keeping true to the principles they were originally founded on, Fred & Murry's Kosher Delicatessen, Restaurant, & Caterers celebrates 26 years in New Jersey in 2007, still grounded on the traditions, quality commitment to customer service, and friendly atmosphere established so many years ago.

    When Fred, Murry and Morty retired in 1997, their two nephews, Shawn and Dan Richelson took over the reigns and now carry the kosher deli business into the next generation. From the on-premises pickled corn beef, still hand cut fresh daily French fried potatoes, to the matzo ball soup exactly the way you remember it as a kid, we invite you to relax, feel at home, maybe try something you you've never had before or enjoy an old time favorite.
