My daughter wanted to play in the kids play area while shopping, and they wouldn't allow her in because she was with her grandmother. They told her that they needed a parent, and proof that she was their child. Who takes a birth certificate grocery shopping with them? My daughters last name is different then mine, so ID would do no good, plus, what 4 year old has ID? My daughter was very upset and cried the entire shopping trip. My mother is white and my child is african american. I truly believe is was more of a racial thing than having ""proof"" of being her guardian.
