Great food and service 3/25/2010

Had the ginormous hot dog at Franks. Who would ever get excited over a hot dog. Hey there are great dogs, and then there is this jumbo treat! This is the largest hot dog you will ever find, and it has a very light amount of seasoned beef chili on the side, melted cheese on a grilled bun with the crust sliced off! Its all that! Pros: Best Hot Dog and Pork Chops and good service Cons: Nothing more

WTH! 3/5/2010

Made reservations last week for 6 for the hot dog contest. 4 of us ordered, 4 of us finished... Asked for our t-shirts... Was told oh, we just ran out!!!!! Yes, we got the dog for free, but no shirt!!! We were told after we finished the meal. Would have been nice if we were informed before we ate... Management did not seem to care. Can tell you that 5 people will not be coming back, and 5 people will tell at least 10 people not to go. BAD MARKETING MOVE!!!!! Cons: Does not care about customer service more

Great food, great service 8/25/2009

Exotic and home cooking under one roof! The Parmesan souffle is SO good, you want to have it again and again. Also, the smoked salmon appetizer (on toast) with dill creme fraiche is outstanding! Try the pork chops for lunch. Some of the best in town!! Pros: Consistently GREAT food more

great place for a wonderful meal 7/1/2009

Could be one of if not the best chop house in Texas!! Pros: everything is great and about the customer more

Great Food 5/11/2009

We enjoyed the food, the atmosphere & the staff. Everyone was very friendly and the service was fantastic. We had the Seafood Gumbo, to die for, the Pork chops were outstanding & of course the Bread pudding was delicious! It was my 3rd visit & we will definately go back! Pros: The best of Everything Cons: n/a more

Accomodating, Friendly. Great Food. Atmosphere. 5/10/2009

This is the most friendly staff for a nice restaurant I've ever experienced. The atmosphere/ambiance was very warm. The hostess accomodated us for last minute Mother's Day reservations after another restaurant who was supposed to call and confirm never did and said I gave them the wrong number online (i had the printout of the confirmation). The food (I had the maple double porkchop, a house pinot grigio and we shared several desserts) was outstanding. Everything was perfect and my family was impressed with my choice and seemingly impossible feat of finding anywhere to seat six on such a late notice on a holiday! I will recommend this *** place to everyone I know! Pros: Accomodating, Friendly. Great Food. Atmosphere. Cons: tables close together more

Don't Miss This Place!!! 2/24/2009

This is my first review, so here it goes. I was looking for a good place to take my girlfriend of two years for our Valentines dinner, which we decided to have on the day before(because she had to work on Valentines Day). It was very easy to get my reservation in, and I have to admit, i was a bit skeptical at first. I was worried about the other reviews saying that it was small, but the building was much larger than we imagined, though still not enormous, it was a relief that to find Frank's is an average sized restaurant. Valet parking was a big plus and the food was amazing. My Girlfriend and I shared our appetizer with a glass of wine each. The wait staff seemed very knowledgeable and worked well as a team and the other guests in the restaurant seemed as satisfied as we were. We both enjoyed our entree's although I can't quite remember what my girlfriend had, i believe the salmon, but don't quote me on that.(and she loved her meal as much as I did) I had the black drum was extremely satisfied!! Frank's has a great variety, so if you are not in the mood for seafood, I must say the pork chop looked AMAZING. We had the chocolate cake for desert and it was extremely rich, but just right for our chocolate craving. I believe the restaurant only opened in July of 2008 so it is fairly new. I wouldn't pass this place, we had an amazing experience. Pros: Food, Ambience, Service, Parking...you name it!!! Cons: Wish it was closer to my house!! more

Fantastic Franks! 2/9/2009

Frank's Chop House is wonderful. There's not much more that I could say! The decor is swank, but not overly so, and the atmosphere is warm. There is a nice large open dining concept with a view to the kitchen to see Chef Butera at work! He comes to our table each time we visit and it's nice to see that kind of relationship to the patrons. Pros: FOOD!! friendly and knowledgable wait staff, extensive wine list, excellent service Cons: Not open on Sundays more

Great Place. Definitely going back again. 1/29/2009

I took a date to Frank's Chop House for a nice dinner on a Saturday night. As we entered the hostess and another gentleman who we found out was one of the owners immediately greeted us. The place was a little smaller than I expected but it added to the style and decor of the restaurant. The wine list was good and it had wines from all over the world. I had a white wine from New Zealand and my date had a heavy cabernet. We both enjoyed the wines very much. We tried the crawfish empanadas for an appetizer and they were tasty. My date had the Black Drum and I had the signature 16oz pork chop. The food was awesome, cooked perfectly with plenty of flavor. It took me a while but I did finish the 16oz pork chop. It was great, best chop I have ever had in Houston. The owner actually walks around the dining room throughout the night and talks to the patrons, which I thought added a great personal touch to the evening. The waiter was very attentive and offered some great choices on the menu. I plan to go back soon, it?s well worth the trip. Pros: Food was very tasty and fresh. Can easily compete with Houston's high end restaurants. Cons: Small dining area so make sure you have a reservation. more
