This haven isn't even a ""one tank trip"" because it's right downtown! Well, it's on the East side of town and admission is very reasonable. There are so many different, beautif...

A Columbus treasure! Don't forget to check out the gift shop and the community garden while you're there.

Wonderful place, great featured exhibits! 3/23/2006

The FPC is so breathtakingly beautiful, each greenhouse room houses plants from a different climate, from tropical to desert. All the plants are labeled and the displays teach you about weather, horticulture, animal-plant interaction, and lots more. There is an extensive ant farm, and you can feed the lorikeets by hand nearly every hour. The featured exhibits are awesome, whether travelling ones like the Chihouly glass or chocolate tree exhibits, or seasonal like the butterflys 'n blooms exhibit, they are all worth seeing and learning about. There is a cafe, which is good for a quick snack, and a small gift shop. The grounds are perfect for flying a kite, taking a walk, shooting off a model rocket, or just playing on the playground. We go so often, we bought a membership for the family. Check out their list of fundraising events too: the Mother's Day plant sale, the wine tastings, the dinner-and-meet-the-artist get togethers are great for grown-ups. more

A fabulous wedding location! 12/27/2005

First thing my soon-to-be husband and I did when we were talking about getting married, was pick a location. It's the above all thing to do, as we soon found out, because locations book up fast and in advance, especially during prime wedding season. I had heard of Franklin Park Conservatory , but never really toured the garden and facility. It is beautiful beyond words! The Palm House ended up being booked for our ceremony and we are so glad we chose to have it there! Guests gushed about how absolutely breathtaking it was--it definitely made our special day even more memorable! more

Gorgeous! 11/8/2005

I love the Franklin PArk Conservatory. The grounds are beautiful leading up to the building, as well. The exhibitions are always wonderful -- like the fantastic Chihuly displays!! I believe they are keeping a few pieces year round? This is a great place to spend a rainy Saturday afternoon and they throw great events here, too!! more

wow! 8/31/2005

gorgeous place that columbus is lucky to have in its backyard! fabulous place for weddings or other events you need a venue for. great place to shop for gifts as well. love going here especially in the wonter when its cold and dark and I need a little pick me up of the nature variety. also a great place to take your out of town visitors as it shows that columbus does have some great big city places to visit just like the larger metropolitan areas. more

Beautiful place to visit 8/21/2005

I have been to the Franklin Park Conservatory for many special events and festivals. The grounds are always impeccibly maintained. The Chihuly exhibit was simply beautiful. The conservatory managed to extend the show due to its popularity, which was a great move. It allowed many people, including myself, who would have otherwise missed the show the opportunity to see those great pieces. The conservatory is also a hot place for weddings. It is one of the most beautiful spots in central Ohio for a wedding. Be warned that the prices are steep and the dates get snatched up immediately (there is a huge line of people that camp out there the night before they release summer dates). more

pretty and fresh 8/19/2005

The conservatory is probably most well known for their butterfly bonanza in the spring, a favorite of elementary school field-trip planners. They've also recently aquired a bunch of chihuly sculptures, and who doesn't love chihuly? (me) But it's a nice place to go, it's calm, the plants are great, stop by, pet the butterflies. more

Really Beautiful 8/17/2005

Like one of the other reviewers I went there when the Chihuly exhibit was there and it was pretty amazing the way they integrated the glass work with the plants and flowers. It was a winter day and these huge snowflakes starting coming down coating everything in the area a beautiful white. THe view of tropical and desert plantlife with a winter landscape outside was something you won't see very often. I don't do this kind of stuff often enough, but I'll definitely make a return trip to the Conservatory. more

Beautiful! 8/13/2005

I visited the when the traveling Chihuly exhibit was here. It was so beautiful and interesting. Even my husband enjoyed it. It was very, very busy but well worth the wait and the staff did an excellent job of managing the crowds. I would like to go back now that they have a permanent Chihuly exhibit and also to see the current plants and flowers. I don't remember it being particularly expensive when we were there but probably around average price and well worth it. This is another great date spot for Saturday and Sunday afternoons. more

Great place to visit! 8/8/2005

Franklin Park conservatory is a great place for your family to enjoy. The flowers and plants are beautiful. I cannot imagine anyone would not like Franklin Park. The birds that are there are awesome as well, you can see many birds flying and chirping. Overall, it is a very calming place to be. And a very good educational experience foe the little ones, and older ones alike! more

Nice Chihuly exhibit 8/7/2005

I love to go here to look at the different flowers and plants, especially the orchids, which are really beautiful and smell so nice. They now have a permanent Chihuly exhibit here and if you've never seen his work, you should definitely check it out. He does these really colorful glass exhibits that are spaced throughout the conservatory. They also have some exhibits that change throughout the year. more
