Worst

I've dined at this location three times and I am 0 for 3. The best part of the meals have been the tasty bread and butter. The last time we went the chicken Parmesan was mediocre...

Good family Italian restaurant with wine fetish 10/14/2006

Frankie Johnnie & Luigi Too is a nice Italian family restaurant in Mountain View with hearty meals, good sauces, free bread with olive oil and wine selection to make every Italian restaurant proud. The parking is a bit tough to find on busy evenings, but generally possible, the service is pretty good and friendly. The menu for the Mountain View restaurant is available on this site http://fjlmountainview.com/page/o642/Menus.html and the prices are generally within double digit amounts. The atmosphere is quite friendly and fits a family outing or a romantic dinner equally. The free bread is not as good as the one provided at Lion & Compass. Overall, a pretty good experience for when one is craving Italian. more

not my kind 4/3/2006

this pizza is pretty good according to lots and lots of people but for me it's not really the style of pizza I like. I've only gotten take out from here but when I did stop by the place was totally packed and I couldn't imagine waiting for a seat! I did also get a brownie to go and I didn't really like it, and I love anything with chocolate. more

open late 3/21/2006

Frankie Johnnie & Luigi Too is expensive, and not quite worth the upscale Italian pricing. The food isn't the best, but it is a decent place for a hearty meal. The service is good and their bread is truly delicious. We like it because it is open late and it certainly does satisfy. more

Great italian for the whole family 11/3/2005

This restaurant is a Mountain View institution! It's loud, a little cheesy, and a tad expensive but we keep going back for the great food. Our favorite is the fresh tomato, basil and garlic pizza, YUM! Take-out is also available. For agreat appetizer try the sausage bread. more

Great Food, Busy at Dinner Hours, Okay Service 8/8/2005

This is the favorite restaurant for some of my friends. Menu selections are good. They have pasta, pizza as well as other entrées. Price gets average, their daily specials are usually good and reasonable in price. This place is really crowded during dinner hours. They only take reservation for party of 8 or more. I called ahead, was told the wait was okay, but ended up waiting for 30+ minutes every time! more

Great Pizza 8/5/2005

They have great pizza here but most pizza they serve is for take out. Great service, decent prices make this place a must try. They have a huge variety of pizza toppings. This pizza is excellent and I highly recommend it. If you haven't tried Frankie Johnnie & Luigi Too you should. more

Best pizza in the area 7/13/2005

I have been frequenting Frankie Johnnie & Luigi Too for about 30 years. I grew up around Mountain View and can still remember waiting on the sidewalk at night just to order a Pizza to take home. Through the years, the business grew larger and they have added on to the original Mountain View location. But unlike other businesses that grow, this one has retained it's quality and has earned my choice as best pizza I have eaten in my life. This honor is not easily won as I have consumed large quantities of both good and bad pizza over my time. Recently, I took my in-laws to the Mountain View location and they said the lasanga was better than what they had in Italy. To this day, they eschew lasanga from any place else stating "it's not Luigi's" Since I am partial to the Mountain View location, I drive from as far away as Richmond to get my fix. I have convinced some friends to try the Dublin location next, but I will always have a soft spot for the Mountain View Loc. Can't miss eating spot. Joseph C Richmond more

Almost Perfection 6/25/2005

Frankie Johnnie & Luigi Too is a great combination of a relaxed, relaxed style restaurant with lots of ambiance (ask to be seated in the back room) and good food. They have terrific pizza, here, but most pizza seems to be ordered for take out. A decent selection on the menu for a business lunch or a quiet romantic dinner. The staff is courteous and quick to wait on you, without rushing you out the door as soon as you're done. The days of long lines at the doors seem to have departed with more competition, but they're almost always comfortably full. If you are on a budget but want both ambiance and good food, you can't really go wrong with Frankie Johnnie & Luigi Too. more

Best Italian around! 6/23/2005

I think this is the best Italian restaurant around. The food is excellent, the pricing is affordable and service is good. While you wait in lines, which can be long, you can wander over to the kitchen area and watch them make the pizzas...always fun for kids, or the kid in all of us. Highly recommended. more
