At Frankfort Regional Medical Center, our Emergency department is working towards a Level III trauma designation to continue our promise to be here when you need us most, treating approximately 30,000 patients each year. We consider it a privilege as well as a responsibility to make sure that we provide excellent service, every patient, every time - which we know may sometimes begin unexpectedly in the emergency room. This information is provided to help you know what to expect during your Emergency visit.. Our Emergency Department is staffed 24-hours-a-day with a team of health care professionals experienced in caring for patients with a variety of medical and surgical emergencies. The physicians in the Emergency Department are part of a group of experienced emergency physicians called "Team Health." They enjoy exceptional rapport with Frankfort Regional medical staff and referring physicians. The nursing staff is handpicked,specially trained and permanently assigned to the department. Emergency Department nursing staff are credentialed with Trauma Nurse Core Curriculum (TNCC),Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS),and Emergency Nurse Pediatric Certification (ENCP)/Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
The staff is trained to provide a full range of medical care for patients of all ages with all types of medical problems,from minor illnesses and injuries to life-threatening emergencies. The doctors and nurses are supported by a full complement of ancillary services including a decontamination tent and air medical services transport.
The Emergency Department offers bedside registration and discharge,keeping patients from longer waits before and after treatment. At Frankfort Regional,our length of stay is below the national average for an emergency room visit.
