Franca's Pizzeria

Service here is really funny, but really good (they waitresses are always very friendly and chatty, and the owner is often around to make recommendations). They're very helpful if you want to split a salad and will bring it on separate plates. The pizza is the highlight, of course, and is made in a brick oven. It's really exciting when you get a slice with a "bubble" in the crust. The crust is great, the sauce not too sweet, and the cheese is high quality. Their sausage is above average, and the other toppings are also good quality. There are entrances in the back and in the front. The decor is sort of old family restaurant style -- nothing fancy here, but the emphasis here is on food. Pizza is more expensive than average, but worth paying more. Pasta specials are excellent, like home made ravioli. more

Franca's has terrific brick oven pizza. The crust is excellent, and you're really in luck if you get a pizza "bubble". They use quality cheese and don't glob it all over the place. The sausage is excellent (not that nasty little ground stuff but nice, thick slices). The pizza is a little expensive, but it's worth it. Their pastas are very good, too. Service is excellent --- the waitstaff is kind of funny and really friendly. The owner is really friendly and likes to make menu recommendations. They work really hard to please their customers. Parking can be a little annoying, but you'll always find a space if you don't mind walking a little. They are very nice about dividing up salads to share. more
