My name is Alexandra Th. Lalieu. I have been studying Soo Bahk Do (Tang Soo Do) Moo Duk Kwan for a little over 20 years, and have been taking classes at Frampton's Karate (in New Windsor) since I met Master Frampton at the Soo Bahk Do National Championships in 2000.
I have trained under six different instructors but when I started to take lessons from Sa Bom Nim Frampton, I finally felt "at home." Where most other instructors (all of whom I greatly appreciate for the things I learned from them) gave great physical-level workouts, I didn't really experience a physical-mental-spiritual workout all-in-one, until I started to train with Sa Bom Nim Frampton.
Here is a man who teaches by example on all three of the above levels. As a 6th Dan Certified Master Instructor and student of Grandmaster Hyun Chul Hwang, Master Frampton is directly linked to the Founder of the Moo Duk Kwan, Kwan Jang Nim Hwang Kee, and is constantly technically and physically passing on what he learns to his students with great dedication and highest respect.
As a Certified Studio Owner and Regional Examiner, Sa Bom Nim Frampton is always on the cutting edge of knowledge of our Art's history, traditions, philosophy, learning theory and more, and encourages his students to be scholars, and to continue to develop themselves through knowledge and understanding.
Sa Bom Nim Frampton reminds me of a great mountain: steady, calm, patient, powerful. His kindness and caring for every one of his students and staff members is nourishing and challenging at the same time - he always seems to know exactly what we need to reach our highest potential.
And, what I find so rare in teachers nowadays, is that he doesn't just tell us what to do, he shows us! He doesn't just tell us 'be on time', he himself arrives at least 30 to 60 minutes early to every event! By his living daily example of the Five Moo Do Values, the Eight Key Concepts, the Sip Sam Seh... through "Action Philosophy": We clearly see how happy, capable, peaceful and confident we could be if we lived in harmony with ourselves. We learn how we can begin to prevent inner and outer conflict (the meaning of "Moo" in Moo Duk Kwan) with this level of discipline and awareness!
These are just a handful of the countless reasons why I whole-heartedly recommend this Highest Quality Martial Arts School to people of all ages and abilities. Anyone who has any questions can call the School and ask to speak with Master Frampton himself at (845) 565-4729. He will support you, your child, our community. You can count on that.
With great respect,
Alexandra Th. Lalieu
4th Dan
