Fox River Resort

we were ripped off from the time we got there to the time we left.they went from trying to con us about things they dont have to us being robbed.the place is unsafe and a disaster area.i have read the other reviews and they must have been made by employies.no one visiting there would think anyone has camped there in 20 or more years.they have apartments reminds me of the projects in chicago. more

Fox River Resort is one of the best vacation spots near Joliet, IL. There is more things to do here than at the lodge at Starved Rock in Utica which is about a half hour away with great hiking trails. I think it all depends on the visitors to determine what they want to do with their time. We enjoy bike riding, swimming in the indoor pool, volleyball, playground, camping, golfing, playing the scheduled kids games, free WiFi internet access in the restaurant, and meeting new people. There is also a fishing lake and a few boats that can be rented for free. The staff has been wonderful! If you see something unusual, they act upon it promtly. It is my understanding that they are going to fix the electric and sewer issues in the campgrounds before the 2010 camping season. more

The resort can be a nice place to get away, it is close which saves money on gas. The condos are not as clean as I would like it. When I visit a hotel or resort I would like them to be cleaner than my house. The only reason we go is out very small children love the get aways. I think they should fire and hire a whole new cleaning staff. more

I was recently invited to the resort tour the facilities and resort amenities. It took a little over an hour to from the Chicago So. Suburbs. \r \r Our tour guide was very energetic and made the drawn out tour a good experience. The owner units were emaculate and would rank among the top timeshare units in major tourist destinations such as Orlando. \r The resort is still in its planning phases so there is a long way to go before this becomes a main midwest vacation spot.\r \r There isn't much outside of the resort as it is nestled in a small quiet midwest town with plenty of farmland.\r \r PROS; A nice quiet weekend get away.\r CONS: No close entertainment or shopping. You will have to travel quite a few miles to get to a store or gas station. Nothing spectacular that would wow the kids or adults. more
