I called to ask that they send a dealer from whom I'm buying a handgun their FFL as I've done on at least 4 prior occassions. They informed me that the rules had changed and that instead of the usual $45 fee it would be $100 unless it was an item that they couldn't get. The handgun in question was a semi custom, hard to find item so we agreed it would be the $45. I went to pick up my gun today and as I finished doing the paperwork, the owner interceded in the transaction and demanded that I pay $100. I told her that I had called, been told of the new policy but that the handgun I was buying was indeed a hard to find item and that the gentleman on the phone had told me it would be the $45.00. She insisted on the $100 and threatened to return the gun to the sender. At the end of the day she relented, but not without first letting me know in no uncertain terms that transfers are a pain in the you know what, that she doesn't get anything out of them (hmmmm.. so I guess my $45.00 is insignificant to her) that she begrudged having to keep the record of the transfer for 20 years and that next time it would be $100. When I told her (and this is what really gets me) that I had had a conversation with one of her employees on the phone PRIOR to arranging for the transfer and that I didn't think it was right to change the rules mid-stream, she asked me for the name of that person and when I couldn't recall it she implied that I was lying. Now, the rest of the staff has been nothing but helpful and accommodating to me every other time, but this treatment from the OWNER of all people means I will never darken their doorway again, for transfers or for any other purchase of anything whatsoever.
Pros: Nice Staff
Cons: Not so nice owner
