Dr. Foster is a specialist in male psychology, and many of his clients are teenaged boys and younger men. Problem areas include relationships, behavior, school or work performance, substance use/abuse, and - in the case of teenagers and men in their twenties - with cementing an identity in order to be more productive and happier in whatever they choose to do. Dr. Foster also counsels many couples, either for specific problems or in the deepening of the connection when the relationship seems flat. Dr. Foster is trained and well-experienced in the treatment of sexual matters, including sexual dysfunction and more general sexual concerns and struggles. With all clients, the therapy can be shorter-term and highly-focused, or longer-term and more in-depth, depending upon what the person is seeking and on Dr. Foster's assessment of what is most appropriate.
Through his former work at Kaiser and in inpatients settings Dr. Foster is also accustomed to working with more serious psychiatric diagnoses and is knowledgeable of psychiatric medications.
Dr, Foster formerly taught for The University of Maryland.
