Best Club in Town 9/29/2011

I work out at this club everyday. The reason I like it is because it has exercise classes that I enjoy and I can play indoor tennis or outdoor tennis(with lights for night time play). Not many clubs in town have all of the tennis and other stuff also. They have recently added new exercise equipment. They have TRX. They have SAQ classes and the some of the best fitness trainers in the country here. The indoor and outdoor pools are nice. I like the clothing shop, getting great deals there. I enjoy the cafe, owned by Morrison's. For the price, I get a lot of benefit from my membership of $75 for myself and four kids. 5 people. more

total disregard of safety 4/27/2011

My daughter was at the facility when severe storms hit on April 28. They were under a tornado warning and severe hail was falling, causing the plexiglass roof to fail, causing the hail to fall INDOORS. The staff called a manager, who told them to do ""business as usual"", despite the arguments of the staff. Not even a directive to take shelter!!! I couldnt believe that Fort Sanders had such disregard for the safety of clients and staff, and would put profits above human life. Is this REALLY the type of hospital/ fitness center you want to do business with?! more

Great gym for Knoxville 5/30/2010

I was never much of a gym person, but feel comfortable here. Not your typical musclehead gym. The locker room facilities are clean and towel service is provided. Soaps, shower gel, shampoos, lotion also provided. A little shocked by the number of naked old men conversing in the locker room and their disregard for wearing a swimsuit or towel in the steam room and swimsuit in the whirlpool. A lot of men feel the need to shower with the curtains open as well, which is strange and disturbing in my opinion. They offer many classes which are included in your membership. It is the most complete gym in town offering tennis facilities with an active tennis club, lessons, etc.; racquetball, indoor/outdoor pools, small indoor track, paved outdoor walking/jogging trail, indoor basketball court, locker room steam room and whirlpool, multiple rooms for various classes offered. Most of the equipment is newer, but not brand new. They offer a number of choices in personal trainers. Pros: heated outdoor pool, courteous staff, towel service Cons: can be overcrowded at peak times more

Just OK... 4/7/2010

Fort Sanders Fitness Center is very average. I have lived in many different cities and it certainly doesn't measure up to many fitness clubs across the country. It is very clean and they offer lots of classes. Their instructors are knowledgeable. The equipment is old and not maintained. Most of the spin bikes are old and ""junky"". With some improvements in equipment this could be a better than average fitness center. Pros: Clean, variety of group classes Cons: unfriendly staff, old, unmaintained equipment more
