My girlfriend and I were meeting some friends in the Columbus area but had the afternoon to kill, so we started looking for something in the area to do. Since the weather was not cooperating and most everything was closed on a Sunday in Columbus, we decided to check out this property. The location is a bit off the main drag but it was easy enough to find and located just off I-270. We didn't need to stay the night, but they offered day passes to the water park for a reasonable $19.95 per person for all day access. The hotel itself is themed up in a very effective ""rustic lodge"" setting, which is only thrown off by the modern arcade games just off the water park. The locker rooms were well equipped with showers and electronic lockers. We had to pay $5 for a small locker for the day, but if we were staying at the hotel we could have easily left everything in our room. The water park itself was a kid mecca, complete with a two water play grounds, one that included a giant bucket that dumps water every few minutes. They had several water basketball courts and a wading area with mushrooms for the little ones. All of these things were nice, but we were more interested in the lazy inner tube ride, as well as the 8 water slides that zip you out of the building before splashing you back down. 5 high speed slides, 2 tube twists and a funnel slide that dumps you into one of those basins that looks like a coin drop. We never had to wait more than five minutes for the slides and we topped off our visit with a dip in the 18+ whirlpool. We didn't partake, but there was also a snack bar in the water park that was serving pizza, sandwiches, drinks and ice cream. The entire staff was friendly and helpful, with several points of contact ensuring that I was having a good time. I cannot understand why this property gets mixed reviews on this site...
