Best

I have loved Fort Rapids! I have went there about 5 or 6 times and it's the best I have never experienced anything wrong. My parents love it and soo does my little brother!(:

Worst

The Front desk, water park, and room service were above average. There were kids screaming in the halls of the 11th floor until 1:00a.m. The room was clean on the surface, just do...

A Blast! 2/15/2011

Fort Rapids was a blast yesterday not only for our students but for our staff as well. We will be looking into possibly going back in June. more

We will be sure to visit Fort rapids again soon 2/9/2011

I just wanted to drop you a note and thank you for your wonderful hospitality this weekend. The kids and parents all had a blast. We were great to work with you, your staff in the hotel bar, Kristin was wonderful. The waterpark was great. It was just a very nice weekend. Your staff was great, the rooms were nice, water park fantastic. So thanks for everything and I am sure we will stay with you again. more

We loved this waterpark! 2/1/2011

We were more than amazed at the high level of service, cleanliness of the room, the friendly staff, and the sheer amount of fun we had at this amazing waterpark. Our kids would not stop going through the water rides, especially black out pass, while my wife and I relaxed by floating down cowboy creek.. We also had a great dinner in the Copper Town Saloon (I highly recommend the Cobb salad), and the breakfast bar in the Brandin Iron Grille is a great value for the money, especially if you have kids. I would recommend this waterpark to anyone, especially in the cold winter months. more

bed bugs & cockroaches 2/1/2011

While I am sad to report this review, I feel it is necessary for others to know about our experience. Let me say first that the customer service from Ken the manager & Jimmy the server were impeckable. That being said, it had to be! We had an extremely large group with us on our trip 1/21/11-1/23/11 and before arriving, we checked reviews. We were very concerned when we saw a number about bed bugs. When calling and speaking to management about our concerns we were assured on the first phone call that in the five years she was there, they had never had an issue. On the second phone call, we were advised that they have not had an incident in 3 years. I called while posting this review & spoke with Beverly to find out how honest they would be knowing there was a recent incident, and she stated ""I will not lie to you, there have been claims recently. We are in Columbus & they are everywhere. The health department came & said that they do not have them."" On that note, one of our guests was moved at 4:30am after noticing bed bugs in their bed. They put them in a cup for management to see & the room was of course comped. \r The next day while swimming with our children in the kids pool, myself & my friend noticed something in the water that looked like a dead cockroach. When we showed the lifegaurd, she simply splashed it away & said that they sometimes come in because of the cold. When we moved to the other slide away from that area, there were a number more cockroaches at the bottom of the slide coming from underneath!!!!!!!\r Management again was of notified, but we are unsure of the outcome. \r more

This is the place to go 1/26/2011

I brought my daughter and her cousin to Fort Rapids indoor waterpark for their spring break and it was a complete blast!!! They have tons of slides and fun attractions I had to pry them away at the end of the evening. We spent 7 hours at the park and it seemed like only a few we were having so much fun. If your looking for a great way to spend quality time with your family and actually interact personally with your kids Fort Rapids is the place to go. more

I wish I had know about Fort Rapids ooner! 1/11/2011

My family and I decided to take a small road trip just to get away for the weekend. We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at Fort Rapids. The front desk staff was pleasant upon our arrival and our room was great, clean and updated. The kids enjoyed the water park (shhhh, I did too :) We all enjoyed the restaurants. Definitely plan on returning to Fort Rapids again for another family weekend, wish I knew it was so close sooner. more

Pretty good prices!! 12/30/2010

We stayed at the waterpark for the July 4th weekend. We stayed 2 nights and really enjoyed ourselves. We didn't think it was too overly busy and there was places to sit, eat, and enjoy ourselves. The waterpark is amazing with something to do for all ages! There was a game arcade that we went to both evenings that we stayed. We also dined in the restaurant quite a few times and found that their food was excellent and the service was AMAZING. Pretty good prices also!! We will definetly be going back. more

It's a great place to take your kids to!! 12/16/2010

We went to Fort Rapids this weekend and even though I lived in Columbus for about 10 years I had never been. We were excited to reconnect with some friends that we don't get to see too often and thought since this was equal distance for all of us that this would be a great place for us to visit and the kids to have fun. It was easy to locate and even though the local mall has closed down and the area is a little run down because of that it sits by the highway all by it's self so I don't understand the comment about it being in the Ghetto! We checked in on a Friday night and went to the waterpark imediately. It tired out the kids and we relaxed with a couple of drinks. It was a perfect end to a 2 hours trip in the car. We then went to our rooms which were had fresh bedding and clean bathrooms. There was a slight musty smell but that is to be expected with people bringing wet suits and towels to the room all the time. All the staff that we had contact with were pleasant and helpful. We got up the next morning at eat at the breakfast buffet which was delicious and had about every option you could want for breakfast. It was extremely affordable too and included your beverage. We went to the arcade for a little bit till the park opened at 10 and had a great time on only $10 for the 4 adults and 3 kids for an hour and won lots of tickets which were cashed in for prizes. We entered the park at 10 am and stayed till we were simpily exhausted. We even had lunch in the waterpark and it was good as well as far as waterpark food goes and was inexpensive as well. The rooms were less than $100.00 once you take the price of the waterpark passes off that are included and it was an inexpensive great couple of days for a weekend trip. I would defintely go again and would absolutely consider a birthday party there. It is great for the kids young and older because it is an enclosed area and there are a lot of life gaurds so even when they have worn you out they can continue to play and have a great time with less supervison then you would need to give them otherwise. Our 9 year old was in heaven. more

I would definitely return to this property again! 12/8/2010

My girlfriend and I were meeting some friends in the Columbus area but had the afternoon to kill, so we started looking for something in the area to do. Since the weather was not cooperating and most everything was closed on a Sunday in Columbus, we decided to check out this property. The location is a bit off the main drag but it was easy enough to find and located just off I-270. We didn't need to stay the night, but they offered day passes to the water park for a reasonable $19.95 per person for all day access. The hotel itself is themed up in a very effective ""rustic lodge"" setting, which is only thrown off by the modern arcade games just off the water park. The locker rooms were well equipped with showers and electronic lockers. We had to pay $5 for a small locker for the day, but if we were staying at the hotel we could have easily left everything in our room. The water park itself was a kid mecca, complete with a two water play grounds, one that included a giant bucket that dumps water every few minutes. They had several water basketball courts and a wading area with mushrooms for the little ones. All of these things were nice, but we were more interested in the lazy inner tube ride, as well as the 8 water slides that zip you out of the building before splashing you back down. 5 high speed slides, 2 tube twists and a funnel slide that dumps you into one of those basins that looks like a coin drop. We never had to wait more than five minutes for the slides and we topped off our visit with a dip in the 18+ whirlpool. We didn't partake, but there was also a snack bar in the water park that was serving pizza, sandwiches, drinks and ice cream. The entire staff was friendly and helpful, with several points of contact ensuring that I was having a good time. I cannot understand why this property gets mixed reviews on this site... more

I Definitely recommend this hotel! 11/30/2010

We stayed in one of the queen bed 6-person villas. Started out great - the front desk staff were more than friendly and aimed to please. The room was perfectly clean and very nice, seemed all new with granite in the bathrooms, two tvs, a fridge, and a microwave. The waterpark was nice. I think maybe it was a bit overcrowded - the lazy river was hard to get around because of all the people. We went to the arcade and played and had pizzas at the snack bar - super prices and very good pizza. Hung out at the bar after the teens went to bed and had a great server, good drinks. Overall, the hotel is very clean looking from what I saw. There was also a security presence in the parking lot, and not once did I not feel safe. Definitely recommend this hotel! more

Great place for business AND pleasure 11/23/2010

I am a business owner and we hold monthly training events three times a month at Fort Rapids. We also have people who stay overnight when they travel to these trainings. The room rate is affordable and the food in the bar is excellent. Whenever we need anything, all we have to do is ask and it is done immediately. The Water park is awesome for families who want to get away and enjoy spending time with each other. It is a great value for the money! I have used this hotel for business and pleasure and would recommend it to a friend. more

This stay could not have been any better. Thanks! 11/9/2010

The kids really enjoyed it. Each of my kids brought a friend, the girls my daughters brought were from family’s that don’t get to do much. They were so appreciative. The one girl kept saying it was the nicest hotel she had ever been in and she has never gotten to do anything like this and it was the best time she ever had. The staff everywhere was great they really anticipated every need and took the time to make us feel welcome. My wife checked in at 2am because it was after the prom for the girls and I was worried checking in so late there might be problem but they were ready for her. This stay could not have been better. more

We will definitley be coming back 11/1/2010

Six months ago we purchase tickets to six flag for my family's upcoming trip. We were in Cincinnati all excited to go to six flags; Only to find out that they weren't six flag anymore. We pulled up waterparks and discover Fort Rapids which was about 2 1/2 hours drive. The kids were excited so we purchase 8 tickets and proceed to the water park. Wow my kids had a blast after riding all the slides. It was just perfect for our family; the staff were very friendly and willing to answer all our questions. We got a villa suite which had everyhing to cater to our needs. Nicely laid out, private bedrooms and bathrooms. On the day of check out we had the opportunity to swim all day again. This is now our family vacation destination because of price and distance we will definitely be back. more

Wonderful experience!: 10/8/2010

Fort Rapids hotel and waterpark is a wonderful spot for a family vacation, whether staying for a whole week or just a weekend. They do not offer day passes to people not staying in the hotel, which is very nice because the waterpark does not get overcrowded. There are virtually no lines to wait in to get on any of the rides. The atmosphere is extremely kid friendly with alot of games, rides and attractions for even the littlest of cowboys and cowgirls. There are also several water slides and a vortex intertube slide for older ""kids"" (and parents, of course). The fun, western atmosphere also includes ""old time photo"" shoots, western themed decorations, and a ""saloon"" style restaurant. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The food in the restaurant is excellent. But the best attraction (for parents) is the locator wrist bands. By scanning your wrist band at one of several terminals located throughout the water park and hotel you can locate anyone in your party. This was very helpful for us when we got separated from our son. We were able to scan our wrist band and find that he had wandered into the arcade. Overall this was a great experience for our children. The water park is smaller than some of the ones in Sandusky, Ohio near lake Erie, but it is by far the biggest and best in central Ohio. There is also alot of nearby restaurants including Indian, Italian and Middle Eastern if the hotel restaurant gets old after a few meals. Our children loved the waterpark, and we loved the overall atmosphere. We will definately visit again! more
