My experience here was HORRIBLE! The owner is extremely RUDE! This shop was the only problem I had in organizing my wedding. I would not recommend this shop to my worst enemy! This is a bait and switch bridal shop. Don't be fooled by the smiling faces and dress selection. It would be worth going elsewhere to avoid the hassle and heartache! I found my bridal gown here and was told that if all of my bridesmaids ordered from them, they would recieve 15% off. What they don't tell you is that when your bridesmaids call they are offered an option to pay 1/2 now and 1/2 on receipt which voids the 15% off deal. (I felt like I committed fraud on my bridesmaids, as I promised a discount that the store didnt honor) They also will take their measurements over the phone and tell them that they are a plus size and try to charge an additional $60 for the dress. None of my bridesmaids were plus sizes, all of them actually ordered regular sizes & had to get their dresses altered down to fit. I caught this scam early on and called to intervene reminding them that one bridesmaid fit the size 8 dress on the rack perfectly so now why where they telling her she needed a 16Plus size? This is a racket to make more money on the dress cost as well as the alteration cost. My bridal dress came in and when I came in for the fitting I found blue dye stains on the dress. The owner-Cathy seemed very mad that I even pointed this out as this was an inconvenience to her to have to order me another dress. I wonder why this dress wasn't inspected on receipt, but I guess that is my job not the bridal shops job. We ordered all of our dresses from bridesmaids, hostess dresses, bridal gown, veil, shoes etc from this shop and we were treated with nothing less than disrespect. The hostess dresses never even came in and the owner didn't even want to refund my money and to this day has not. We will be settling this matter in court. The alterations for my bridal gown left a great deal to be desired. I tripped down the aisle and no one could figure out how to tie the bustles that were supposed to be color coded, even though all of the ties were the same color.??? I was so disappointed with myself for patronizing this shop. I wish this on no bride. I ended up loosing it in the shop when the owner refused to refund my money for dresses that never came in. The hostess' and their mother who were supposed to be in my wedding backed out because they didn't have proper attire- thanks to Cathy at Formally yours. Kathy has no compassion for this business from her own mouth "" I sell dresses you buy dresses"" She is not warm nor does she care about making your wedding a stress free, beautiful experience, in my opinion she does everything in her power to make it difficult. I came in for my final fitting and the alterations were not right so the alteration lady asked if I could come back later once they were completed, once I left Cathy called me to tell me that she would have to put my gown in a bag after the alterations were finished and she would not be resteaming my dress. I dont understand how the alterations not being right ( as per the alteration lady) was my fault and why would nt she resteam my dress if it needed it, why would any shop owner want a product to leave their store less that satisfactory. I told her to forget it, I would get it steamed myself. This was the worst experience I have ever had. After spending so much money here, I am still in awe about the unprofessional treatment we recieved in exchange for patronage. No matter how much they tried, my wedding was beyond beautiful! Do not be fooled by the message from Formally Yours. Dealing with this store, the owner in particular, was anything but enjoyable and stress-free. Ordering six bridesmaid dresses, over 1200 dollars, was anything but fun and enjoyable; it was a wedding nightmare. Our order (due in Feb. 5) was late, and nobody called to inform of the delay. In fact, this went on for 47 days. Never once did I receive a call from the store when several of the ""projected dates"" for delivery passed. These dates, in hindsight, were based on nothing- I was left feeling like they just told me anything to get rid of me. When I finally had a discussion with the owner about it, she was rude and condescending. Blame was always thrown elsewhere and an apology was never made- nor was an offer to correct the situation. By the time the dresses DID come in, the wedding was less than twenty days away, and the dresses still needed to be shipped out of state as soon as possible so that alterations could be made. Formally Yours had been aware of this need since the order was placed on November 24, 2009. It was now March 24, 2010. Upon mention of sending a letter to the Better Business Bureau, the owner paid to have ground shipping. This of course was unacceptable because of the time restraints, but the owner did not seem to care one bit. In so many words, she pretty much told me that other customers were more important. Getting the dresses to the other girls on time cost as much as another dress... I do not recommend this store to anybody, not even for a prom dress. Don't be fooled by the lure of a 15% discount either... that is simply not the case. Pay 10 dollars more and get your dress somewhere else. Formally Yours formally sucks. Cons: Everything. more

When I came shopping here I fell in love with the second dress I tried on. The owner tried to sell me the dress right off the rack - it was FOUR SIZES TOO BIG and had snags and tears all over it. She offered to take $50 off the price if I purchased it...wow, thanks. I should have walked out when she pressured me to buy that nasty rack dress, but I decided to order it from her because I loved it. The sales girls are uninterested in you as a customer and the owner views everyone who walks through the door as another payment on her Buick SUV. If you try your dress on here...buy it elsewhere. You'll get a better price and won't have to deal with the hassles I've dealt with. Pros: Small & Cute Cons: Pushy & Rude more

I had a wonderful experience at Formally Yours! After looking almost everywhere for my gown, I finally found it there. The staff is very friendly and knowledgable. I would recommend them to anyone looking for the perfect dress for your big day! more

I had a bad initial judgement on this place but after the first 5 minutes it turned out fantanstic. At first I wasn't greeted very pleasantly by an elderly woman but since the first 5 minutes it's been great and everyone is so nice and helpful. Everyone including the elderly woman is really interested in meeting your requests and lifting some of the stress, of finding a dress, away. The woman is actually very nice once you give her a chance she just comes across as a ""not happy camper."" In fact she is a delight to see in the store everytime I come in. The owner is so patient and really hears your side of things. I'm not comfortable in a dress and I get anxiety over making big purchases, but they have done so much for me. The biggest thing is they let me make a short story into a long story. Definetly go here because they have a good selection and reasonable prices. The dressing rooms could be bigger but I'm not buying a room, just a dress. Advice before you go since some have had bad experiences: have an idea of what you like, make an appointment, be respectful of their business, and be patient not only with yourself but with them because its not ALWAYS about you ALL the time! They have shoes, jewelry and veils you can use for visualization. Also you can even try these on! I've gone everywhere in the Atlanta area and I am confident about this place. I could have gone to another store and just ordered the dress I found here but I really like this place, their history, and atmosphere. Pros: Ability to try on shoes, jewelry, and veils. First, as I walked in the door I was carrying a bottle of water. The woman at the desk loudly and rudely called out to tell me that no drinks were allowed. I walked out and left the bottle by the door and came back in. I had some pictures I had downloaded of styles that I wanted to look at that the designer said were available in this store. I showed them to the woman and she said,"" Oh, there are just destination gowns. They're in the back."" And pointed with no offer of assistance what-so-ever. I went back there and another woman was standing by the dressing rooms. I told her what I was looking for, she took one look at me and said they had nothing in my size in the store for me to try on!!!!!! I'm a 14, not small, but not huge. All in all the worst experience I can ever imagine. Save yourself the time and go somewhere else. more
