forbiddin caverns 4/5/2006

This place is a nice place to take your family on a trip. It's all underground so pack a flashlight and bring a camera. This fun time will be a time you will never forget. Since you will be underground, it will be dark. I've been there one time and still remember that joyous adventure. Thanks 4 looking. more

Great place to Visit 3/31/2006

If you havn't been here, why not ? I highly recommend the experience. If you have any physical limitations, you might want to reconsider the underground experience. Not for those afraid of closed in spaces or the dark, BUT, the entire experience is one that you'll want to remember for a long time to come. The formations inside the caverns are just beautiful, the tour guide doesn't sound 'bored' by his job, nice gift shop. Good prices too. more

A 55 minute walking tour through special lighted underground caves 10/2/2005

The caverns are lighted with special colored lighting, the designs and textures are pretty amazing for occuring naturally. It is kinda damp and cool in there, 58 degrees year round. You are guided along by a tour guide who explains different aspects of the cave, some areas are narrow and the celilings are low, but they do provide you with handrails at places that are difficult to get to. There is an underground lake that they've got no idea how deep it is or how wide it is but it is fresh spring water that seems to filter itself and continuously stay at the same level. It is not too expensive, don't remember exactly how much but if you are looking for a way to kill some time this is as good as any. Check out their website... www.forbiddencavern.com/index.html There are pictures and a history plus directions on the site. more

Come see the caverns! 8/19/2005

Forbidden Cavers is among one of the best places to visit while in this area. It's truely a site to see and something that is part of this area's history found nowhere else. They offer guided tours, the Forbidden Caves are home to the largest wall of rare cave onyx known to exist in the world. Admission is affordable, this is not only an interesting place to visit but great for educational purposes for those with children. more
