7/29/11 Our first visit today could not have gone better! The staff was friendly and made us feel welcome. The environment was clean and quiet. Our F1 Savanna kitten showed no signs of stress during the visit. We filled out our new client papers and were in the office on time. Dr. Ziegler took the time to answer all of my questions and offered great advice. I never felt rushed, and I felt like I had 100% of her attention the entire time. I would highly recommend this veterinary clinic to all cat owners. Thank you for making this experience a positive one for our kitten! more

Why All the Bad Reviews? 6/20/2011

I don't really understand all the bad reviewsfor this clinic. I had a great experience there. I took my cat in for a check up for the first time and was running late, so I called the office to let them know. When I got there they thanked me for the courtesy of calling, and never said a word about being late. I had hurt my back, so they carried the cat back into the exam room for me (and out to my car when I was done). When the doctor came in she was very polite, professional and thorough. They drew blood, and I got a call the same day with the results. The results were what the doc had predicted, and she reviewed with me all the treatment options, plus the cost for each. I am definitely going to bring my cat back there, as I had a very good experience! more

Four cat lovers 12/9/2010

Have been taking my 4 cats to Dr. Z since they opened their doors. What makes Dr. Z stand out above other clinics I've used over the past twenty years is her caring for the animals. Other vets I've used it was obvious that it was just a "job" to them but Dr. Z is different. You can see the love and concern she has for cats. \r I highly recommend her to anyone! I'm also surprised by the negative reviews but that just must go to the old adage that you "can't please everyone". more

BEST VET FOR YOUR CATS! 4/20/2010

Dr. Ziegler and her staff our the best. Don't go anywhere else before visiting "For Cats Only Veterinary Clinic". We have three cats but just lost one very suddenly and it was very upsetting to us. He stopped eating and drinking and would not meow. He just wanted to be held. I called the Clinic and took him in immediately. Our cat started regressing quickly even though the staff worked and tried everything to make him well. After an ultrasound we found he had Lymphoma and it must have spread to his vital organs. The staff did everything they could and everyone was very helpful to our needs. We had to have our friend put to sleep and it was painful. The staff was with us and understood our concerns. This is the second cat that survived to it's senior years and we had to put to sleep. It is extremely hard to do to a pet that is loved as a member of the family. A++++ 4/1/2010

Tried this vet clinic for the first time and I am impressed. The Dr. is friendly and her staff is the best. I took my cat in to be neutered and declawed and they were more than helpful in answering any questions or concerns I had. I have called everyday to check in on my little guy and see how he is doing, and they have been nothing but sympathetic and caring. I would defiantly recommend this clinic to my friends and family. more

Emergency Situation = Excelent care 3/30/2010

I had an emergency with my cat swallowing a needle and thread and I called another vet hospital in Quakertown and they informed me that they needed a $1200.00 deposit for possible surgery and hospital stay! This price, i could not afford. A friend recommended that I take her to Just for Cats, also in Quakertown. I did not even call, i just rushed her there. They were WONDERFUL and only needed a $300.00 deposit. They took her from me, rushed her back for an x-ray (which was also a great price) Diagnosed her immediately. Once I agreed to the surgery they were scrubbed and ready to work. Now i have my happy, healthy and needle free cat back. AND i still have some $$ in my pocket. I am 100% satisfied with this place and we look forward to a long relationship with this Clinic. more

Laughing at negative reviews 1/26/2010

Dr Ziegler and her staff are awesome. It makes me laugh at the negative reviews. I personally want a vet who makes me and my animals feel like family, not rigid, non caring vets like ALL the others in that area. my Baby and Boo weren't even afraid like they were at other vets. I moved to the State College area and she is STILL our vet. more

Negative reviews seem almost unbelievable... 7/29/2009

I have gone to Dr. Z since she was at Allentown Cat Clinic. I drive all the way to Quakertown just to see her. The negative reviews just don't make sense to me, because all of my experiences have been so opposite. I've found her very compassionate, professional and competent. I like that she "thinks out loud" and isn't afraid to say when she isn't sure about something. (And when she isn't sure, it is because the symptoms fit different things and cats can't talk, not because she isn't competent.) I had to make the hard decision when to put my cat to sleep, and she was straightforward with relevant information. She said that she could provide all the vet/blood work type information, but that my part of the decision came from the fact that I knew my cat very well and she didn't. I could "read" her behavior in ways she couldn't. She was also realistic about the costs of her care. I take my new cats to her now- since they were kittens. Great Clinic with Compassionate Care 1/30/2009

Dr. Ziegler is by far the best vet around. I took my cat Nuage to her because she constantly has blood in her urine which she really has had since a kitten. Dr. Ziegler takes such good care of her cats and my Nuage just loves her. She is so comfortable with Dr. Ziegler. I don't understand the negative reviews. Her staff is outstanding and caring and Dr. Ziegler gives the best TLC to not only her cats but to us as well! I love for cats only clinic! more

I highly recommend cats only veterinary clinic 9/24/2008

I got a kitten from PAWS and I got a free visit to another vet, I took my kitty there and she was very distressed by the other animal sounds/smells, the whole time we were there she was very stressed out.\r \r I took her to the cats only vet and she was content and not scared at all.\r \r The staff were very friendly and helpful, they called me the next day to check up on my kitty and make sure she was ok after the operation.\r \r I am very happy with this place and would recommend it to you. more

Amazing Clinic 8/19/2008

I was blown away to see any negative reviews about this clinic, and especially about Dr. Ziegler and her staff. I'm tempted to think it's the competition trying to deter their clients from switching! \r \r I have 4 cats and two of them have had health issues in the last year. Dr. Ziegler has changed my mind about veterinary medicine. I used to see it as an expensive nuisance to be avoided but now I have no problem going to the vet because the care is outstanding. My cat Calyx had thyroid surgery last year and Dr. Ziegler called me often with thorough updates, answering my questions before I even had to ask them. I was able to visit my cat in the back room after her surgery and was amazed at how clean and welcoming it was even in this seldom seen area of their clinic. The staff there is equally wonderful. The women at the front desk don't just schedule apptmts, they can answer almost any health/cat question thrown at them and are so very kind and generous with their knowledge and more

Dr. Ziegler is compassionate and competent, and her veterinary clinic, For Cats Only, is excellent. I have brought my two elderly cats there since it opened, traveling from Allentown, and have gotten consistently knowledgeable, friendly service with charges that were appropriate. more

After Years of Searching - This Vet is THE BEST! 7/26/2008

I have read other posts here. I felt I needed to add my thoughts. I have several cats with special needs. I also have several senior cats. I have had some terrible experiences over the years with vets that gave my cats less-than-acceptable care, did procedures I never agreed to, overcharged me and in more than one case even suggested my cats were not worth being treated. After my first visit to For Cats Only, I knew I had finally found the right vet for me and my furry family. Please understand, my cats with issues usually need to see the vet more than most cats. Sometimes it takes a while to find the medications or treatments that work best for them. I have never been to a vet that does more for my cats than Dr. Renee Ziegler-Post. As far as her staff is concerned, they are ALWAYS professional, helpful, thoughtful and compassionate. In addition to that, they are friendly and pleasant. Dr Ziegler is the Best - - Cats and their car are her passion 6/17/2008

Hi. My cat has been a patient of Dr Ziegler for three years. This obviously includes time before she started "For Cats Only". Dr Ziegler is the best. Frankly, I'm appalled at some of these reviews. Dr Ziegler has volunteered ample time and heart at no-kill shelters. She has always stepped out of her way, even when overbooked, to make room for her patients. She and her husband run a clean, professional, and caring practice. You will certainly feel comfortable entrusting the care of your closest friend to her. more

I disagree with the other posters 6/17/2008

Dr. Zeigler is a wonderful compassionate vet. I adopted my cat in 2006 from a rescue organization who worked closely with Dr. Ziegler. My cat is a special needs cat and I drive over an hour and a half just to get to this clinic because I find her to be such a wonderful vet. I completely disagree with the other posters saying that her staff is unprofessional, I find them to be wonderful and they always return my calls right away whenever I have a concern, which is more than I can say for even my own doctor. more

Do not go here. 6/12/2008

My young kitten developed a blood clot, resulting in him being unable to use his back legs. We took him here for treatment and observation. Upon hearing a very potentially grim prognosis (we would know within 48 hours), I decided to get a second opinion. When I informed Dr. Renee (personally) that I would like his meds and him for a second opinion, she became VERY unprofessional, snippish, and hung up on me. I will NEVER go there again and will encourage all other cat owners I know to do the same. more

Exceptional, compassionate care 5/23/2008

I have been a customer here since they opened in 2/07 and have had nothing but positive experiences. The doctor and staff have always been friendly, professional and obviously care a great deal about what they do. I've referred several friends who have all had good things to say about this place. One of my friends had a cat will an allergy that other vets had been unable to treat correctly but Dr. Ziegler treated her cat and it is doing much better. It's hard for me to believe that the previous posters on this site don't have a personal agenda. If you're interested in a veterinarian who only works with cats I suggest you call them and make your own decision. Remember...anyone with a computer can anonymously slam someone on the internet these days. more

unprofessional customer care 4/7/2008

I brought my cat there thinking this woman would be at least professional and in the hopes that she would be real with me, although I haven't went to her before. I informed her of my background in the industry and my degree in small animal science, granted I am not a vet. I felt I was very respectful and let her give me her diagnosis. Although I already knew what was wrong with my cat, and have already priced the procedure out at other vets. I asked for an estimate and blood work knowing that my cat would need this anywhere else I would have to take her. Once she gave me her mind-blowing estimate, and upon questioning her estimate, she belittled me and told me she is a vet, as to reassure me my cat is in good hands... she proceeds to take my cat from me to another room, to take its blood, I ask to go with her and watch, her response is No. As they are in the back I can hear them talking about me through the wall, Now that is Just rude.\r My advice: Go elsewhere save your self the stress more

Poor Care and Rude Workers 1/14/2008

I had taken my cat there on two separate occasions, during those two visits I was appalled by the lack of professionalism all around. When I arrived there was one person sitting at the desk...I assumed she was working and told her I was here for my appt. She informed me that she was on her break and was checking her email. I had to wait five more minutes before an actual worker came out to assist me. She took me back to a room, which was very clean (the only positive aspect of my visit) and I sat in there and waited 30 minutes for the veterinarian to come in. I assume she was backed up because she barely looked at my cat, recommended a lot of blood tests and vaccines. However, I had brought records from my old veterinarian with recent blood work results and proof of vaccines...she didn't even bother to read what I had brought with me! She also seemed to get very defensive when I questioned her recommendations, I love my cat very much and I do a lot of reading and research on ways to ke more
