I've been a patron of FGF for several years. They have the BEST Sunday brunch in town (10am-3pm, mimosas available). Located in a nook and a patio at Betton Place, the outdoor seating is probably one of the best ways to dine. I particularly like the seats underneath the Oak tree with the spanish moss and x-mas lights dangling overhead. It's a very romantic setting at night, and an invigorating setting for brunch or lunch. Obviously this outdoor seating lends itself well to Spring and Fall and Summer evenings. Luckily they are expanding their indoor dining area, to accomodate more guests when the weather does not support outdoor dining.
The menu is a mix of Modern American with traditional flavors from the South. I've taken many people with varying tastes to FGF and they never fail to find something to suit their taste. The menu often changes with a few items remaining as a staple. They also have a great pastry chef, and the creations are available for dine in or take-out. (Usually I have to take my cheesecake home, because the portions are so filling, but I can't pass on desert!).
You can check out their website http://www.foodgloriousfood.com/ for hours and sample menus. I would probably call a similarly priced restaurant expensive. However this locally owned restaurant and catering service is probably one of the best finds in Tallahassee. Everyone deserves to treat themselves to something truly delicious, and you can find it here! Bring your friends, family, or special someone. Brunch and lunch are usually very casual, but many people dress nicely for dinner.
