The shoyu soup base is good, my personal favorite. The big surprise is the curry, most places simply miss the mark on Japanese curry. Not Foo Foo Tei, they have katsu (breaded p...

Not just one of those ramen places. This place has different styles of ramen. they have unique broths and meat/toppings in each of the ramens they have available. more

Foo-Foo Tei 12/22/2011

I like their ramen with white cream sauce. I think it is the best soup that they've got there. You can just upgrade to a large and share the large with someone if there are two people in your party. It is huge. The downside is that they only put a couple of slices of meat in the soup. For appetizer, try the miso-grilled mackerel. Mackerel is not fishy at all, but you have to get the miso-grilled not any other kind. I forgot the other grilled kind, but I made a mistake of ordering it once, and I was very much disappointed. I ordered tan tan noodles once here and it was ok, but did not like it at all, so if you are going to this place, you definitely want to get the ramen in white sauce. more

Value, period. 11/30/2008

This is a Japanese styled Chinese Ramen House (I know, it is confusing). The noodles are pretty standard fare. Some of them could be quite salty for some. Their a la carte dishes are surprisingly tasty. Especially grilled Chilean Bass stake and Grilled Macro. Their tempura is very authentic. Remember, if the restaurant does not offer graded daikon to be added to your tempura sauce. It is not authentic enough! Try it, it would change the way you remember your last piece of tempura. Pros: Great value. Cons: Could be a little dirty for some. more

Good ramen, great Japanese curry 6/13/2008

The shoyu soup base is good, my personal favorite. The big surprise is the curry, most places simply miss the mark on Japanese curry. Not Foo Foo Tei, they have katsu (breaded pork cutlet) curry, or curry rice. Both are great. The food takes me back to Tokyo. Pros: Food is great, service is fantastic. Cons: Small parking lot, always a wait, a little pricey compared to other noodle places. more

Crowded all the time but food was alright 4/5/2007

Honestly it's not the best ramen in town. I ordered the #17 ramen which i love the soup based very much. The chicken leg was very crispy and not greesy. I tried other ramen and it's not really impressive at all. You can get a big bowl of ramen for less than $8 which is a fair deal. Pros: price Cons: crowded, long wait at night time more

The best ramen 1/5/2006

Yes,you have to be hungly, but not very hungly. Why? because you need to be hungly to finish their well topped good size ramen, but not too hungly so you can wait for your turn. They have about 30 kind of ramen menu so you can try deffernt ramen every day for 1 whole month. Yammy!!! O(^O^)?O(^~^)? more

Homestyle Japanese Ramen 9/21/2005

One of the better homemade japanese ramen I've had in the Los Angeles County area:) I would definitely suggest going as early or as late as u can since the restaurant itself is small and so seating is limited and based on a first come first serve basis (so grab the pencil and put your name on the list as you walk into the door!) Pros: GOOD Ramen, Good Service Cons: Small Parking, Can be very Crowded more
