I try Gyros all over L.I. and nobody has come close to Fontanas yet. Everything on their menu from souvlaki to their gyro pizza is great and not expensive either.

The Best of them all 12/8/2005

I first discovered this place around 25 years ago from a Greek friend of mine and since then have tried many Gyro shops all over Queens and Long Island. No other places even come close! I now live on Long Island and travel all the way back just for their Gyros among the other fantastic foods that they sell. Once you have tried their Gyros, any other restaurants Gyros will be very dissapointing. more

Absolutely the best Gyro place ! 6/25/2005

Yummy! One word to describe this gyro restaurant. There really isn't that many places to sit. The parking is a pain. But the food is great! If you are in the mood for an awesome gyro or souvlaki sandwich this is the place to go. The yogurt sauce is yummy and it comes with French Fries. It is right off Northern Blvd and there is probably room for 8 cars. the best bet is to go as a team. One sits in the car and other goes in to pick up the food. more
