Fong, Joe, Dvm - Arguello Pet Hospital

Dr Joe Fong is the best vet we've ever known. He's very caring and treats all the pets as if they were his own. His new hospital is fantastic the hours are wonderful. The hospital is open from 8:00 AM to 8:00PM Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Thursday and Friday 8:00 to 6:00 and this is the best Saturday 9:00 to 4:00. Now if we need an office visit or medication the hours are great after work or the weekend. The staff is friendly. He has taken care of my 2 doggies since they were puppies and I have confidence in him of handling their health care. 5 stars it is highly recommended.\r \r Leroy Lee of San Francisco more

It appears that Dr. Fong has left Park Animal hospital. If anyone knows where he is, my dog, my friends dog and we would like to know. He is the greatest! more

While the location can be central for a lot of folks living on this side of the city, I would not recommend this hospital for your pet . After going to a new vet, I discovered Arguello Hospital had talked me into spending more than needed on unnecessary tests, they were comparitively way too expensive, and ultimately never did diagnose my animal accurately. The care isn't that good, the staff is not that friendly, not compassionate - and ultimately they were not able to help my pet at all. Also, my cat who was pretty good about the vet, but is beyond frighteneded these days to go, after we went to Arguello several times. I don't know how they treated my cat behind closed doors, but it had a lasting impact on my kitty for sure.... Skip it Pros: Convenient location for back side of city (though parking is extremly tough) Cons: Too expensive, staff is not friendly, they don't follow up well, and ultimately poor diagnosis. more

Dr. Joe Fong is now at Park Animal Hospital, 415-753-8485, 1207 9th Ave. San Francisco, CA. The staff is very nice and helpful. I'm so glad I found him, he is so good with my 3 little old doggies. Dr. Fong is professional and understands the needs of our little friends. Everyone who has a pet should see Dr. Joe Fong. Pros: The office staff picks up the phone...no more waitng for 20 minutes to talk to someone. Cons: He does not have the extended hours like before but he always make time to talk to you. more

I only got to see Dr. Fong once and found Arguello hospital through the reviews of Dr. Fong. He is great but now he no longer works there. However, I have had Dr. Ina and Dr. Price see my french bulldog puppy and they are great. Extremely friendly and experienced. I really like the other staff as well at the front desk. However one woman there needs to improve her attitude and is very cold and even rude at times. Otherwise the other women there are great and always ready to give hugs and even kisses to my pup! I feel good going there for my puppy's care. Pros: Warm and Caring environment Cons: One woman at the front desk really needs to go. Otherwise great. more

One day I expressed my disappointment with its service and the next day the manager sent all my pets record to me and told me to find another hospital, while my cat was still sick! It made you think that they are not there caring for your pets. Pros: Dr. Fong is nice and patient. Cons: Too busy to care for clients. more

I brought all our animals to Arguello and always had a great experience. The staff try hard to remember you AND all your pet's names! We saw Dr. Fong, who was great, altho in a pinch we've used the other doctor's as well and they were also great! The vets go out of their way to explain things to you and give you adequate time. They don't try to rush you in and out. We have since moved to New York and still haven't found and adequate replacement for Arguello Hospital! We were spoiled by them! I take both my cats to Arguello Pet Hospital and the vets and support staff are all great. The staff always has treats for my guys and the vets are gentle with the animals and patient with explaining things to me. I've never had a bad experience there. Dr. Fong is great with cats - always makes my cat less nervous and eases my tensions as well. Dr. Fong is knowledgable, friendly, and very personable. The staff and service is also great! And the prices are very reasonble. Pros: friendly, professional, cat boarding avail. more

Dr. Fong goes out of his way to make puppies feel 100% comfortable at the vet. Now that my dog is almost full grown and been through many shots, neutering, etc. he still loves trips to the vet because of Dr. Fong. He makes me feel at ease, answers all my questions and gives a very high level of medical care to my dog at a reasonable price.
