Awesome service! 5/16/2013

I have never been to a Brazilian Steakhouse before, and I'm glad I came hungry! Our server Jamie was very polite and extremely informative on how the Brazilian Steakhouse works. We were presented with an option of multiple sides different side items to accompany about 15 different meats. And each come right when you are ready for more. The side bar was perfect for a man's appetite. I wish I could come here every night! I will defiantly be back very soon!! Next time with the whole family! more

Excellent! 3/10/2011

Great food, expensive, but worth it every once in a while. I came here for dinner with some friends for the first time and all the good things I've heard about Fogo de Chao were true. I tried so many different types of meat that I can't say which was my favorite. Their garlic mashed potatoes were really really good. The salad bar looked to have a vast assortment of greens, but I'm a simple salad person so it was more than enough for me. The way they serve their meats is unique and the atmosphere was charged with many conversations. All the good comes with a high price tag, but overall, I'd say it's well worth the occasional visit. You won't be disappointed. more

Go hungry! 4/25/2007

I have been a few times and have nejoyed myself...other than the fact that I gorge myself with too much food! For the price...all you can eat filet? Awesome! And I have never seen asparagus that big before! They must genetically alter it. I have been to one of the other Brazilian steakhouses, and liked this one better! more

Food For Your Buck 5/28/2006

How much meat can you handle? Just use the cards to signal for the carvers to shave and/or cut it onto your plate. Delicious cuts, as you like it. Surprisingly enough Fogo De Chao has one of the best salad bars in Chicago, in case your GF/BF is vegetarian. A good place for out-of-towners, especially if they're your parents. But not the most original restaurant; there are very similar places located downtown too (i.e. Sal Carvao). more

Fogo de yum! 5/7/2006

I'm not exactly a good vegetarian because I often crave a fancy shmancy steak dinner. This place is awesome when it comes to quality, portions and service. You will need to go on a mostly empty stomach because there are tons of options and you will need to try lots of them. Nothing is too out of the ordinary, so its a trusty fun place to take your picky friends. more

Meat. Salads, Cheese, Wine, ETC. 5/2/2006

Craving meat tonight? Well, if you go here, you can fill up a month's worth of cravings! The amount of meat that you will have access to here is amazing. Just sit down and put the green signal out and you will be presented with trays and trays of really decandant and flavorful meat. Need some sides? Check out their HUGE salad bar that has amazing, fresh choices. They even have a cheese bar, which is heavan for a cheese fanatic. Wine is not hard to come by here either. Their selection is amazing and it does not lack in any department here. If I could afford it, I would eat here every single day. It is just that good. more

Lots and Lots of Food 3/22/2006

I have been here once. I was actually curious to see what all the fuss was about this place. It sure wasn't like Old Country buffet. And that too in several ways. For one, it was wayyy more expensive. But, then again, the food was also wayyy better. Talk about an abundance of meat! I don't think I have ever seen so much meat at once. I'm actually not a big eater and though the food was really good, I could only eat so much. I would recommend this place more for the hard core meat lovers or people with big appetites. I wish they would sell things by the plate for people like me. more

All you can eat - In a good way! 3/22/2006

This is not Old Country Buffet. There are not a bunch of trash people and hicks stuffing their already plentiful guts with cheap food just to get their money's worth. Instead, be prepared for a fancy, gourmet experience in which professional servers discreetly line your plate with one of at least a dozen varieties of meat as long as you wish them to do so. Yes this is a lot of meat to consume, but it's very high quality and actually tasty. I am not a big meat eater at all but I would definitely go back here. The salad bar is also up to finer standards although don't get too full on it or you might miss out on all the good meat. more

Meat Lovers! 3/9/2006

Calling all meat lovers! Calling all meat lovers! Do not miss out on this AWESOME all you can eat meat place. I have never had such fresh and succulent meat in my life. The waiters and waiteresses here bring the meat to you on big platters and you can eat to your heart's content. Go here for lunch or dinner, you will not be disappointed. But, if you are a vegetarian or not so big on meat, you should perhaps skip out on this one. more

Brazilian Churrascaria 3/3/2006

Fogo de Chao is my favorite Brazilian Churrascaria steakhouse in Chicago. Gauchos with meat and seafood on skewers walk around, and depending on whether you have your colored disk on red or green, will offer you whatever they're carrying. Fogo de Chao also have a salad bar with fresh veggies, cheese, bread and more. I've found the waitstaff at Fogo de Chao to be great, and always willing to accommodate any request. I hear the desserts are also delicious, but I'm always too full to try it! more

Meat Meat Meat 2/19/2006

I just went here for valentines day and this place is amazing!! They were really busy and we had a long wait, but it was definitely worth it because the food was so good. The main theme here is basically meat, so do not venture here unless you love meat. You will get great meat here and you will get an abundance of it. Best of all, you can eat as much as you want and they will keep bringing it to you until you can eat no more. It was also a great setting for a valentine's day dinner because the food was great and the restaurant has a great ambiance which makes it romantic too. more

Amazing 1/15/2006

The entire experience of Fogo de Chao was simply amazing. I've only been there once, but I would definitely like to go again. The waiters (called gauchos) are continually bringing various types of meats out, and you just flip your coaster when you're ready for more. Simply the best meat I've ever had. I wouldn't go more than a couple times a year, for the sake of both my pocketbook and my heart. more

Service and food perfect! 8/9/2005

I have gone to a couple of these in different cities and this one isn't any different. The food here is of great quality and perfect service. There are many imitations, but this is the original. I really enjoy the salad bar and the variety of meat. The bargin is found during lunch at a fixed price it comes with the salad bar. They also have an extensive wine list and a fully stocked bar. more
