Amazing Experience - COME HUNGRY! 5/21/2005

Fogo de Chao is one of the best restaurants in Atlanta. I have been to most of their US locations and they are always consistently good. The meats are amongst the best I've tasted, and the salad bar is unexplainable (everything from hearts of palm, mozzarella balls, smoked salmon, black beans and rice, proscuitto, to asparagus). The food keeps coming until you tell them to stop, and it is worth every bit! This is one restaurant you want to come to completely famished! For a less expensive option - try going for lunch during the week. Pros: salad bar, limeade, amazing meats Cons: cost, no weekend lunches more

Not a weight watcher although atkins would work 4/5/2005

I personally would not bring a first date or for that matter anyone I am trying to impress in this place, because I just can't stop eating. The meats are perfect. I can see how some cuts can be a bit salty for American Diners. The service inside is a little crazy and chaotic, do not expect a quiet evening. Gauchos are hovering around everywhere with with 15 pound skewers of meat. For me this is where I go when I really just want food that I truley like, I don't go for ambience or environment (although the first time is definetly quite ""different"" more

Brazilian Flair 3/11/2004

I love this restaurant. Only go when you're truly hungry. You can always get in if you go at the beginning of the dinner hour...let's say 6. Otherwise I would make reservations. Don't fill up on the salad bar, 'cause the meat is mouth watering. Pros: Food, Service, Value more

Atlanta's Best 1/24/2004

Far and away the best Atlanta has to offer for fine dining. Incredible selection of beef cuts (as well as lamb and chicken) are served at your leisure. Service is prompt, courteous, and accommodating. The salad bar, for those who choose to sample, is well stocked and includes prosciutto and fresh salmon among it's offerings. Excellent dining experience. Pros: Excellent Food, Superior service, Great value more

Fun, delicious 9/11/2003

I've been to several churrascarias in Brazil including the popular Porcao chain and Marius in Rio. Fogo de Chao lives up to the expectations of native Brazilians, as a long-time friend experienced recently while visiting Atlanta. The meats were wonderful and plentiful, just like the Brazilian tradition. The salad/buffet bar was very similar to the Brazilian restaurants, with a nice selection of authentic dishes including hearts of palm and marinated mozzarella, as well as more ""American"" style salad bar standards. The atmosphere was seemingly a bit rushed, but comfortable and exciting. The cost is much higher than the Brazilian restaurants, however, which usually run about $20 per person plus alcohol. Fogo de Chao was around $40 per person. Not a place for daily dining, certainly, but perfect for special occasions. Pros: fantastic meats, salad/buffet, valet parking Cons: cost more

The only BBQ in Atlanta 9/4/2003

Hate to say it, being from the south. This is the only BBQ in Atlanta. Ok.. not southern BBQ but Brazilian BBQ. Without sauces the meat is 100% superb! Just like in Rio, Brazil!!!! (Except for the price... in Rio it is only US$25) Do not eat for a week before or a week after! Pros: Food, More Food, and Even more Food Cons: Price more

Esta bon! 8/24/2003

This was an excellent dining experience - almost equal to the same restaurant in Rio and Sao Paulo. Outstanding salad bar. Delicious meat. Adequate wine list. A bit pricey! Pros: salad bar, meats, service Cons: price, noise more

Don't Believe the Hype 8/13/2003

Had 8 o'clock reserves., arrived @ 7:30 & were told we (2) wouldn't be seated until 8:30. Nearly left, but were seated @ 7:50. Waiting at bar, witnessed bartender pour 2 different wine types in same glass. They also have a ""drink ticket"" system - different. Once seated we were pleased w/ salad bar but the meat was inconsistent: filet mignon was too salty! Cont Pros: salad bar Cons: loud more

Wear an Elastic Waistband! 8/9/2003

Love it, love it, love it! I am an avid restaurant-goer and this is probably my favorite restaurant in Atlanta. The salad bar is great - a great alternative for vegetarians and a wonderful complement with the rest of the meal. The meats are to die for and the sides are very good too. The concept of the ""stop"" and ""go"" serving of the food makes it fun. Although pricey, lunchtime is another good alternative to go. Some of my favorite meat dishes are the lamb chops and the garlic filet mignon! There is no way to not eat tons at this place! Pros: lots of food, great quality of food, good for groups Cons: expensive more

Delicious 8/8/2003

This is absolutely one of the best steakhouse I've ever been to. The food is out of this world, I definately recommend this restaurant!!! And is all you can eat so it can't get better than that ;) more

impressive 8/5/2003

Fogo de Chao is a culinary delight. Eat as much as or as little as you want. The food is superb. The wine list is extensive. There is no reason to leave this restaurant hungry. Pros: Epicurean buffet, Great wine list, Prompt service Cons: Somewhat crowded more

Yumm 7/15/2003

An Atkins dieter's dream restaurant. All you can eat meat! We were seated immediately with our reservation. The service was great! Everyone was very attentive. The salad bar was beautiful, but there wasn't very much on it for a picky eater like me. It would have been nice to have the ""weird"" stuff labeled. Side dishes of plantains, mashed potatoes, and fried? polenta weren't worth bothering with. Rolls were good. The meat was excellent. Filet was good. Garlicky beaf loin was great. Little chicken legs were marinated in something and were quite tasty. Sausages were nice. Sirloin was a little tough. Filet of beef and filet of chicken wrapped in bacon were both a bit dry and just okay. The atmosphere is VERY loud. There were a lot of big parties with name tags. Pros: meat!, Service Cons: Noise level, Crowded more

Food good - Atmosphere not 6/2/2003

The food quality was very good, the salad bar and the meats... But, our meal felt like it took 30 mins start to finish... We felt rushed, uncivilized and that we were just a table-top that needed to be cleared for the next dinners... It would be a very pleasant experience if there were 30% less tables and the waiters SLOWED down a bit... Pros: good food, all you can eat, cheap for what it is Cons: loud, rushed, crowed more

True Brazilian... 5/15/2003

VERY Brazilian... Authentic/classy ambiance, tasty and tender meats, excellent service. This is very close to an all-you-can-eat (rodizio) style Brazilian Churrascaria. This is how Brazilians like a steakhouse. Excellent!!! Pros: Food, Service, Staff friendliness more

Fantastic 5/15/2003

I recently dined at Fogo de Chao amd I was very impresseed with the food selection and the service was the best I have ever experienced. If you want a romantic dinner, this isn't the place, but if you want to have some of the best cuts of very flavorful meats, this is the place. Come hungry and eat slow, and eat less salad because it is all about the meat. Pros: great service, great tasting, large selection Cons: crowded, loud, limited parking more

incredible 5/5/2003

An overall amazing dining experience with incredible service and all you can eat meat - the best meats you've ever had. more

Run - don't walk! 2/25/2003

And go at lunch - you'll save 50%!! The lamb is gamey, and they'd do well to include a sauce or two with the condiments on the salad bar. I now know what the fuss is about. YOU MUST MAKE RESERVATIONS, AND STILL BE PREPARED TO WAIT The atmosphere is uninspired, like a hotel is decorated. But just look down at your plate, and you'll be happy! more

Can't eat another... ....ok one more 2/24/2003

Good god, did I eat all that? This place rocks for the hungry. The meat is excellent and the veggies are too and it just keeps coming and coming and coming. The service is just perfect and my only complaint was that the wine service wasn't up to par with the rest of the service (but that was it!!!). It is a little pricey, but well worth it. Make reservations. Vegetarian friendly. more

over the top 2/6/2003

Be prepared for a wait, even with reservations. The meat is wonderful; however, it does become too much after a while. We had to have the entreé first because the salad bar was wrapped around the dining room. Waiters/bartenders VERY cute. Pros: waiters, meats, for a while Cons: parking, $$$ more

BEST BANG FOR YOUR $BUCKS 2/4/2003

Pricey, and finally you feel like you will have the opportunity to get your monies worth. You probably won't if you are that hungry and don't take any women that eat like birds. But man the food is GREAT! The service is GREAT! The salad bar is GREAT! Do I need to say more. GO HUNGRY! more
